For me, a top 5 Yes album.
The latest in a very long line of excellent prog albums from Ukrainian artist Antony Kalugin.

Verdict โฆ An important album, if only to act as a permanent reminder that Roger was musically as active as ever nearing the start of his ninth decade.
However, in terms of live releases I favour the far superior In The Flesh, recorded way back in 2000.

The recently released collaboration from Gavin Harrison and Mastodon guitarist Nick Johnston.
If you like Allan Holdsworth then chances are youโll appreciate this.

02.08.2025 07:52 โ ๐ 9 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Happy 65th birthday to the irreplaceable Neal Morse.
I consider myself an atheist, agnostic at best, but have always found Nealโs music (whether solo, with Transatlantic or the NMB) so beautifully uplifting.
Like many, Iโve lost count of the number of epics heโs given us.
For me, Raven is the best album released in the past quarter century.

An almost impossible four to rank, but if you forced me โฆ
1. Nursery Cryme
2. The Yes Album
3. Tarkus
2. Meddle
Now try these two ๐ฅ

31.07.2025 18:00 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0An interesting series of articles in this monthโs @ProgMagazineUK but TBH (perhaps controversially for some, even most folk) Iโve never regarded Kate Bush as a prog rock artist (not that it really matters โฆ whatโs in a name?)
Innovative, theatrical, certainly arty; but prog?

My favourite album of the year (the one Iโve played most) remains Karmakanicโs Transmutation.
However, the purest in me is finding it difficult to look beyond this for the prog album of the year.

5 โญ๏ธ from the thunderous Hole In The Sky through to the vitriolic The Writ (Ozzyโs open letter to their then record label Vertigo).
