Case in point. This should be a source of shame for this country. I hope Canada grows from this experience and decides to be a Real Country from now on.

It’s really only been about 6 months of Canadians caring where their food came from. Before that, Canadians would gleefully go across the border to shop. Canadians are still adjusting to what it means to “buy Canadian”.

And the universities aren’t about to reverse that trend. They want the $$ even while first year profs shake their heads about the seemingly low calibre of students in their classes.

The reason is a university degree is the new high school diploma for many young people ill-suited to academics but still forced to go, to get employment.

You’d think a pride organisation would know what discrimination was and that it is wrong, but here we are.

I made sure I had my baby in August so I am definitely in the second camp!

This is an awesome podcast, but this story in particular is excellent. The space race, and trip to the moon is a story of the greatest of human endeavours, but it is marked by the exact opposite throughout.

The store on that strip I used to shop at moved to Kits so I never go there anymore. Over the 20 years I shopped there, it got worse and worse on the street to the point where while I never felt unsafe, it seemed incongruous to ‘frivolously’ shop there.
