It is genuinely insane that the City of Chicago runs these beautiful - completely free - swimming pools in the summer and then doesn't even put in a concession stand, which might pay to keep it open a bit longer than August 3rd

Another good reason is that you will never be as productive with Spark as you are with the SQL columnar analytic databases. You need complicated logic not available? Drop to a map-only job in Spark/Beam/whatever and load the result back to your SQL engine.
