Millions are struggling with the cost of food, housing, and other basic necessities. 70% of U.S. adults say the American Dream is dead. How does Trump respond? By saying "affordability" is a "Democrat scam" and a "hoax." Hello?

In a comic strip panel, person in a red shirt walks through a sunlit forest. The text says "Sometimes I go looking for a tiny part of the universe." "This part only takes up as much space as: half an apple, a salt shaker, or 2 ping pong balls." Each of these items is shown. Galaxies and stars swirl as the text says "But somehow, in an unfathomably huge universe," and then there's a complex mess of forest leaves, with one tiny Wilson's warbler in one corner, and the text says "this one tiny part". There's a close up of the warbler, blazing yellow against a sparkly yellow background, and the text says "can fill up my whole heart."

Another comic from this past year. Sometimes I'm in awe about how incredibly small birds can be.

Andean bears have unique facial markings, much like human fingerprints. These markings may change in shape and colour with age, and in some individuals may be absent altogether.

Bad framing: ACIP voted to scrap the universal hepatitis B vaccine recommendation for newborns.

Accurate framing: Anti-vax conspiracy theorists appointed to ACIP by Robert Kennedy Jr., who made a fortune as an anti-vax profiteer, voted to expose babies to a preventable, incurable, deadly illness.

I've always wanted to know how you organise all your collections! Like how many repeats you keep of even common ones, and how you sort and discard bulk or keep... Basically, your opening process.
You are the mastermind behind all your team and would love to see your process

Sensitivity of the human temporal voice areas to nonhuman primate vocalizations

πŸ§ πŸ’ When chimps vocalise, human brains spark in a unique pattern that we do not show for other primates. Not bonobos, not macaques, just chimps.

✨It is like evolution left a little secret button in our heads and chimps know exactly how to press it✨

Our latest study found a notable lack of news reporting on the human health relevance of climate change in the world’s three leading carbon-emitting nations. Over the past decade, only 8% of climate-related articles included any mention of human health.

Depictions of evolution where a phylogeny often has humans on the far right or top can give an impression of evolution being progressive of leading to β€˜increased complexity’ when it does not. Top figure shows such a phylogeny which can look the same as β€˜the March of progress’ depiction most commonly used to depict evolution (showing monkey to man erroneous march of evolution) - instead swiveling some nodes on a phylogeny where humans are shown closer to the center (which doesn’t change relationships) can lead to better β€˜tree thinking’

On the 100th anniversary of the #ScopesMonkeyTrial
the ways we depict #evolution can still give an erroneous progressive view (that evolution leads to humans or β€˜increased complexity’).

AI dubs aren't just an attempt to replace voice actors. Engineering, mixing, writing, directing, and QC are also cut, narrowed down to a single prompter.

When I write dub scripts, it is an exercise in musicality, translation, and personal life experience. A prompter understands none of that.
