Had a brilliant time at today’s @ucltb.bsky.social public engagement event. It was great to be with so many inspiring TB survivors, community leaders, local politicians, & researchers. We shared lots of ideas about involving affected communities in tuberculosis research. Feeling really energised!

This is, of course, a huge misunderstanding. Infections are not a choice. Importantly, you are also not at fault when you get infected. You are infected all the time, with many agents.
The alternative is being locked up in a sterile environment, in a bubble, without direct human contact.

This is interesting, but I also think it's a matter of being working class, looking at the political class and thinking, "what a bunch of wankers" and deciding you don't want to be a wanker, or hang about with people who you think despise you.
