I have opinions and bylines and plenty of snacks.

01.01.2025 01:23 β π 8 π 0 π¬ 1 π 015 this year. Taller than me now - has been for some time!
01.01.2025 01:21 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Saw 2025 in on the couch with the Teen and the large dog, a packet of gingerbread Oreos, summer fruits squash, watching Ted (his choice - opened up some, uh, βcasual discussionsβ.) The cat was asleep in a box in the hall, as is his wont when itβs windy. Liking 2025 so far. Think Iβll stick with it.
01.01.2025 01:17 β π 402 π 4 π¬ 24 π 012,000 fireworks apparently. Bloody marvellous effort.
01.01.2025 01:11 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Paddington at the end made me (and the boy) a bit emosh. And the D-Day voices.

01.01.2025 01:09 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I absolutely cackled at that
01.01.2025 01:09 β π 5 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Things Can Only Get Better on the London fireworks display made me properly lol. Good old Sadiq. Happy New Year, folx x

29.12.2024 00:20 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Knightleys best performance to date I think; she suits the dark gritty violence in a very surprising way
29.12.2024 00:19 β π 4 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0OH Iβve just read that she plays ALL THREE WITCHES. I may combust with glee

29.12.2024 00:18 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Oooh thanks for the recommendation, I can imagine she would absolutely knock that out of the park. Look forward to seeing it!
29.12.2024 00:15 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Sheβs phenomenal. Such a rich and engaging actor. Thanks for the heads up on this!

29.12.2024 00:13 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0In the past few days Iβve binge watched Black Doves, Poor Things and Megalopolis, and have concluded that I now want to watch every single thing Aikaterina Hadjipateras (aka Kathryn Hunter) has ever been in. Iβm obsessed. I adore her. What a phenomenal actor.

Prime Minister Keir Starmer writes in his Christmas message for @bigissue.com

Exactly. Like how dare I care for and treat a sick animal. Absolute monster πΉ
19.12.2024 23:30 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Because several of the cats previous treatments werenβt covered by the insurance so I cancelled it and opted to save the difference. The dogs insurance has been fine so far. Not sure why itβs any of anyone elseβs business tbh, weird thing for strangers to get hung up on
19.12.2024 22:53 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I mean, Iβd try it
19.12.2024 22:48 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Iβm not sure AI is advanced enough to imitate my particular brand of chaos π
19.12.2024 22:48 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Precisely, which is why I binned it off and opted to put the equivalent aside each month instead. Worked for us, but might not be for everyone.
19.12.2024 22:35 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 2 π 0βPets can be put downβ isnβt the flex you think it is. Theyβre family here.
19.12.2024 22:33 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Why? His treatment was paid for and he got everything he needed, and it still worked out cheaper than it would have been to have paid the insurance over the same time period. I chose to pay into savings as a prudent reserve instead of insurance; whats possibly irresponsible about that?
19.12.2024 22:30 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Good lord, theyβre absolute scamps arenβt they?! (Cats, not vets!)
19.12.2024 13:19 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0ETA: our vet is fantastic, doesnβt do anything extraneous, is fully upfront with costs and information before undertaking any procedures, and is realistic about whatβs necessary and what isnβt. This wasnβt a poke at vets, who are remarkable human beings, itβs a warning about selling off the NHS.
19.12.2024 13:05 β π 182 π 5 π¬ 8 π 1Thatβs exactly what I did, put the amount we would have paid in insurance into a separate savings pot that luckily covered most of it. Bloody hell, though.
19.12.2024 13:02 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 3 π 0Oh my vet is lovely and doesnβt do anything unnecessary. Heβs very kind and knowledgable (and absolutely loves Cooper, as does everyone!)
19.12.2024 12:57 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0(The cat has kidney disease. I suspected something was up as heβs been chronically thirsty lately and a bit incontinent. His prescription diet is now going to cost more than mine and the Teens weekly food shop combined. But I love this cantankerous fluffy wee git, so, we do what we have to do.)
