There are a few academics I’ve read a lot of stuff by and meeting some of them in real life was a big turnoff.
I had formed this image of them in my head based on one side of their personality and that parasociality quickly broke when they fell of the pedestals I had erected.
Verily so. I cannot live without memes (too millennial for that) and good conversations
but maybe I can live without doomscrolling for reels 🙃
Day 6 of yeeting apps that suck up my attention off my phone (instagram, facebook, Reddit) and the withdrawal signs are lessening. My phone has become boring. Obviously bluesky could stay, as it hasn’t turned into an ever updating slot machine (yet).
