The Jane Goodall Institute of Canada has learned this morning, Wednesday, October 1st, 2025, that Dr. Jane Goodall DBE, UN Messenger of Peace and Founder of the Jane Goodall Institute, has passed away due to natural causes.
She was in California as part of her speaking tour in the United States.
A lot of comments re: NPR reflect deep frustration, which is valid, but starving public media doesn’t improve coverage. When a major broadcaster goes, partisan and billionaire-funded outlets fill the gap. Listeners who want accountability need to fund newsrooms they expect to hold power to account.
