This is the sort of crap I can’t wait to get as I inch closer to home ownership.

16.02.2026 08:19 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0I’ve only done the first 2 episodes of Children of the Stones so far but it was unnerving from the opening sequence!
Sapphire and Steel is a rewatch so I do at least know what I’m getting myself into…

The time to discover you cannot run properly after 4 pints is not when you suddenly and unexpectedly need to run for a train after 4 pints.

It is atmospheric Who on a budget at its finest. Intriguing Victorian ghost story mashed with aliens & packed with interesting characters makes it a joy to spend time at Gabriel Chase.
Bonus points for Ace in a suit😍

And I find myself wondering/wishing whether I could manage another Gallifrey One trip…
I will say that if cost and distance ever becomes doable, staying in the Gally hotel does make it fairly easy for you to slip off back to your room for a while. My trip there was post-COVID and I had a couple of overwhelming moments so it was nice to just go sit on my own for a bit.

08.02.2026 01:07 — 👍 3 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0I think it probably is. There is clearly a greater overarching plan and the regulars all get fleshed out. It needed LOM first to build on. I’ve never got around to a full rewatch of A2A and really should one day.

Greatly admired Alex’s 1980s’ fashion choices, so we were soon both wearing stripes, off-the-shoulder tops (sometimes both - see me here) and blazers with shoulder pads.
Sadly our teenage budgets didn’t stretch to white leather boots.
70s folk horror has a lot to answer for. You’ll never be sure if a picturesque village’s inhabitants will instantly welcome you like family or immediately start planning your sacrifice.

07.02.2026 19:51 — 👍 8 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0I’ve been going to England games for 20 years now. Jerusalem used to be like more of an unofficial anthem and was spontaneously sung by the crowd (alongside Swing Low), yet today it has moved up to getting an official singer on the PA singing it before God Save the King. I do much prefer it.
07.02.2026 19:49 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0Similar for me with the Dalek and Cyberman stories. I’ve only come around to liking Remembrance more in recent years (the bluray sets often help in reappraising), but it’ll still never trump the Resurrection bloodbath for me!

I’ve a fondness for Mawdryn Undead - really enjoyed the timey wimey Blinovitch and lore elements when I originally watched it, and still think having a bloke walking around with a brain hanging out is cool as fuck.
