Defenselessness is not virtuous. It’s just being stupid & irrational. Having the capacity for self defense does NOT violate the principle of non violence bc our survival is not an act of violence. Anyone who thinks firearms are strictly offensive just has an irrational gun-ick.

Wanting only cops & the state to have effective firearms is not a left wing position. It is a deeply authoritarian elitist *liberal* position. The left has a long proud history of arming the working class against our oppressors.

They are AT BEST only accountable to state governors but AT WORST can be taken over by Trump whenever he wants. Thats a terrible example. The 2A is the right to form militias. It’s community defense.

Thinking National guard is the militia is not a reasonable interpretation of the 2A after LA.

If Trump can just take them over they’re not a militia, just another branch of the military.

Even if they were controlled state governments they’re still not accountable to our communities.
