Unfortunately I felt too sorry for @lolakr.bsky.social to ask her about the Van Dijk memes. I can only apologise.

Didn’t someone say there might be more long range goals this season because of the puma ball? (Aware of the irony here)

Ref cam is just a new form of humiliation to beat the conceding team with. But taste of your own medicine Liverpool

Every time Garnacho gets the ball I think it’s Ukrainian Olympic sprinter, Mykhailo Mudryk.

True!

Yeah he was rooted. But think it was an exceptional finish, almost looked like it was going wide

Even more likeable!

Yeah, hadn't considered this - certainly better to threaten on multiple fronts. Also we are lethal from set pieces (sorry to the rest of the league but they count the same as any other goal)

28.09.2025 19:10 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

But what actually told for us in this game was bog standard Arteta-ball. Mikel Merino's usual deft aerial dominance and big Gabi from a corner. Exactly the kind of chances we would look for **with the proverbial handbrake on**

28.09.2025 18:44 β€” πŸ‘ 3    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

The first half was very true to that in a sense that I thought Vic and Eze posed a really different kind of threat than we normally do. We stretched Newcastle and transitioned v quickly. Vic ran the channels really well.

I would've told you before the match that the difference was we had more ways of winning and Newcastle had fewer after losing Isak.

28.09.2025 18:42 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

What I find so remarkable about that game is we were staring down the barrel of what's happened *so* many times before. Put Newcastle under early pressure, don't take our chances, they score, we struggle to break them down.

28.09.2025 18:42 β€” πŸ‘ 9    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

Not a foul apparently.

Unfortunately I quite like Nick Woltenmade. Seems like a decent bloke. Merino’s just better in the air.

So. Apart from double curse or VAR and me (sorry) Arsenal have done a lot right in that half. Combative, creative, much better midfield balance, and some good early shots. A lot to like. (Obvious a lot about this game to drive you insane as well.)

Jared Gillett. Can't referee Liverpool games because he's a fan, can be part of 66% of Arsenal's opening 6 games.

You're always up against two opponents at SJP. Today is no different.
A shame to be behind because I think that's the best we've played this season. Especially away from home.

28.09.2025 16:23 β€” πŸ‘ 196    πŸ” 7    πŸ’¬ 18    πŸ“Œ 0

We are indisputably better at football than Newcastle. Forget the penalty. It’s on us if we allow their violence to rattle us. Time for calm.

28.09.2025 16:23 β€” πŸ‘ 7    πŸ” 1    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

I think there's no way she can be precious over that given how well-beaten they were. Hopefully we'll have won at Newcastle by the time we're recording!

If the players believe in the manager, the fans should as well….

Players are always the biggest indicator of where a club is going, so if new players want to come to Arsenal & existing players want to stay, it’s a massive tick in the box.

Massive renewal….

Big opportunity for Max. But he is 15! And Mik doesn’t seem to play Ethan on the right anymore.
