Looking at #cholestasis, she delved into the relationship between bile acids and immune response, describing how different immune cells are affected by these bike acids.
Dr. Greg Guthrie kindly shared some early work from his latest project!
The introduction to a beautiful story beginning to be told, he touched on the microbiome, gut, and liver through a #neonatal #cholestasis lens. His talk inspired fabulous conversation, as well!
We pivoted from the gut to the #liver with Dr. Cynthia Juβs talk! She discussed the communication that happens in the liver, particularly during immune response after #reperfusion injury and ischaemia.

Working with Dr. Doug Burrin's lab at Houston's Children's Nutrition Research Center, Dr. Greg Guthrie examines the intricacies of #cholestasis in #neonates using piglets as a model, including the effects of bile acids, lipid emulsions, and parenteral nutrition.
