Yep. If a car does something bad, then it’s “ok.” But if any bicyclist does something wrong, all hell breaks loose.
That speaks volumes about our car-brained, double-standard society.

When bike paths are safe and easy to use, more people are likely to ride bikes, which helps keep everyone healthier and reduces healthcare costs.

I needed to haul something very large and heavy today. Did I buy a pickup truck, saddling myself with insane monthly payments, insurance, and maintenance? Nope, I rented one for $80, did the task, and returned it. It's that simple.

Very much so. Through bicycling, I’ve unexpectedly connected with my neighborhood/community and I find it very satisfying.

I also made friends at Open Street-type events such as CicLAvia/ActiveStreets SGV in LA. I didn’t think that would ever happen.

The most Seattle thing you’ve ever seen and also the most adorable thing: “little free pep talk library” on 15th Ave SW mid-block between Thistle and Elmgrove. I read one (pictured) and left one.

I went to this a few years ago and it was fun. Miniature train setups, tours of old train passenger cars and I think Metrolink/Amtrak cars. All free. 🚂💺🚉

When I learned years ago that the LAX Metro Transit Center was costing $900 million to build, I didn’t understand how a light rail stop could be so expensive, and thought it was a massive waste

Wow, was I wrong. They built a generational piece of civic infrastructure.

Hey, you know what goes really fast, takes up a lot more space, emits a lot more pollution/noise/GHG emissions, costs a lot more public money, and is FAR more dangerous in cities than any kind of bike in a city where most don’t drive?

Cars.

So, about that “enough is enough”…

So the shuttle buses between the terminals and the new Metro transit center only operate between 4am and 1am and not 24 hrs/day?
Does LAX close between 1am and 4 am?🤔

I hope the orange dotted intersections along Washington Blvd and Long Beach Blvd get signal prioritization sooner rather than later; rail movement is painfully slow along those segments.

I was there and attendance was somewhat sparse but the participants were happy and there were some good, cheap eats along the route. Looking forward to CicLAvia at Pico-Union and Glendale’s Open Streets in May.
