Truth, I’ve seen it too.

I've thought that people who don't travel outside the U.S. have no idea that we're shitty. Shitty is all they know and they'll defend it, without having a clue the wonders that exist in Japan, Europe, etc. Myopia.

Because our culture is biased against both density and taxing ourselves for the public good, among other things. We don't value it, so we don't prioritize it. And people think public transit is for the poor, so they're biased against building more. My two cents, but so much more to it.
