It is normal for our glucose levels to πŸ“ˆ when we eat. We do not have to panic about that. Yes, there are things that can help if you are at risk of diabetes or have a medical condition. But please get that information from your medical team and Dietitian not a biochemist on TV

Sadly, there is a whole heap of diet culture in this. The evidence is being cherry picked and there is a supplement being sold that does not have credible evidence behind it.

I feel like we have regressed back in time. Anyone remember Gillian McKeith? πŸ€¦πŸ½β€β™€οΈπŸ€¦πŸ½β€β™€οΈπŸ€¦πŸ½β€β™€οΈ

Dear Channel 4. What were you thinking? Oh maybe this is going to bring in the viewers and up our ratings. Which I guess it will. But having worked really hard with a tv show to get credible nutrition advice out there… this makes me super sad.

πŸ™ŒπŸΌ Challenge the guilt. Guilt is a thought, not a fact.

βœ… Try replacing it with a compassionate response, like:
β€œIt’s okay to enjoy foodβ€”I’m allowed to nourish and celebrate.”
β€œWhat I eat doesn’t define me.”

03.01.2025 18:52 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

πŸ™ŒπŸΌAvoid making up for it. Skipping meals, restricting, or overexercising after Christmas can make you feel worse.

βœ… Instead, aim for your regular, balanced meals to get back into a routine without swinging from one extreme to another.

03.01.2025 18:52 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

βœ… Remind yourself that one meal or one day doesn’t define your health.

3 Ways to Let Go of Food Guilt

Feel guilt about Christmas food? You’re not aloneβ€”but guilt doesn’t belong at your table. Here’s how to move forward with kindness.

πŸ™ŒπŸΌFood is more than fuel. It’s part of celebration, connection, and joy. It’s okay to enjoy festive treats.

Remember there is no need to go on a diet, use any diet pills, potions, injections. January can be a huge money making time for the wellness industry. Let’s choose to not make them richer and instead ignore diet culture this year.

I honestly don’t get fireworks. Yes they are very pretty but surely they can’t be good for the environment? Just me?

Hey you don’t need to go on a diet on 1st January any more than you do on 31st December. Let 2025 be the year we stop letting diet culture tell us what to do with our bodies.

This is such an insightful take on it.

Instead of punishing yourself, take a moment to reflect with compassion. What did you enjoy about your Christmas? Was it connecting with loved ones? Laughing over shared meals? Food is just one small part of the bigger picture.

Food is not a moral issueβ€”no guilt required!

Did you eat differently to usual over Christmas? Are you feeling overwhelmed by thoughts of guilt or shame about food?

Here’s the truth: Food does not define your worth. It’s okay to eat differently during the Christmas period.

Christmas can be so hard if you suffer with an eating disorder.

So try not to pass comment on someone’s food, their eating, their weight, their body shape this year.

How about leaving diet talk in 2024 too?

I’m a dietitian….

- I eat chocolate most days.
- I can’t tell you my macros or how many calories I eat.
- I rely on ultra processed foods like shop bought bread and cereal bars.
- We sometimes have a quick meal like a bought stuffed pasta with a sauce.
- I drink wine.

Life is about balance.
