History teaches us that economic precarity and social instability are the avenues by which opportunistic bigots and fascists have leveraged their ideologies. This is a repeated theme if you study history.

I’m mad at republicans too! I’m horrified ppl have been deluded into believing so many evil things about immigrants, diversity initiatives, trans ppl, etc! But that’s what happens when you systematically destroy people’s economic stability & access to education, then push fascist propaganda nonstop.

If you look at history that isn’t propaganda & is instead viewed from a materialist lens, you see the same thing over & over, the lower classes being divided against one another by an opportunistic upper class who know that keeping us divided & hating each other preserves their power.

You only see the barista pouring you a cup of drip out of an urn and you’re like “I’m supposed to tip them for that??” And it’s like um no you’re tipping them for waking their ass up early af, riding a bus in, grinding the beans, brewing the coffee, setting up the store, et fucking cetera, assholes
