The universe is being a fool through us.
23.06.2025 19:32 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0I am looking to hire (careers.pnnl.gov/jobs/10733?l...) a PhD #intern to work on representing #urban expansion in the Earth system models. One goal after implementing this capability would be to examine the impact of different projections of urban land on #weather extremes & #climate.
Please share.
I had been guest editing a focus issue on 'Human-Earth System Interactions under Climate Change' for Environmental Research Letters with several of my colleagues.
Here (doi.org/10.1088/1748...) is the closing editorial on this issue, which details the insights gained from these studies.
After 25 years of watching Earth's changes, Landsat 7 has been decommissioned. It helped monitor forests, glaciers, disasters, and coastlines, providing decades of open science data. Its archive will continue to support research and environmental management

I will present our work - 'Global urban-rural contrasts in vegetation structure and dynamics modulated by background climate' at #AAG2025 tomorrow (24th March 8:30 am)
we will show how different climate zones and regional development patterns influence urban vegetation (among other maps)
Recently had the opportunity to guide a group of students working on a product to help #cities track, #mitigate & predict #urban #heat islands.
They are one of the national finalists of the Samsung Solve for Tomorrow contest.

I had an unnecessary number of presentations at #AGU24.

Hello again #AGU24! I will be talking about a surface water detection method that works not just globally, but also does well for your favorite waterbody!

#AGU24
11:30am, Tuesday, 10th Dec.
#AGU24 is here & I somehow have 4 presentations.
I should have started making the slides today instead of wasting my time populating the PowerPoint template with 4 separate photos of myself.
I am also contributing to several other talks, & am highlighting those led by postdocs I work closely with.

Here is a simple #Google #EarthEngine #webapp to do so.
