If you can find a cartridge cap, the cartridges are incredibly easy to clean out and reuse. It’s also best if you use a large volume of ink! Just be sure to use a blunt end syringe to both fill or flush them out! (Also, a Qtip will fit in the cartridges to dry them faster)

The Lamy dialog 3 could probably cause serious harm if thrown at someone…

My current favorite duo! The Lamy Dialog 3, and Kaweco Brass Liliput fountain pens! I love a good weighty and dense metal pen making these a perfect match. I truly admire how tiny yet perfectly weighed the Liliput it! It’s fairly new and hasn’t developed a lovely patina yet, but it will soon!

Diamine Tempest! A very well behaved and easy to use shimmering fountain pen ink! I use many shimmering inks but the particles in this one seems to stay suspended the longest! Less need to shake or dip your pen. The colors are amazing! A deep blue-black with dark red sheen, and golden shimmer.

I don’t remember where I bought this but it was sold as a “ Large nail polish shelf”. I figures it makes for a great ink shelf too!

Acquired this seriously adorable sailor pen (model unknown to me). It’s super slim, light as a feather, and has a satisfying snap cap! The nib is quite a delight as well, bordering between fine and extra fine. This will be a favorite for sure!

Today I purchased the most fantastic piece in my fountain pen collection! A 90 year old Sheaffer balance in near perfect condition! Can’t wait to look at the carmine red in person!

Platinum Chuo Kuro! The most expensive ink I have so far but personally worth it for me. It has high water resistance (though not complete) and is the darkest and most saturated black ink I’ve seen on the market.

My favorite fine point! The Sailor pro gear Realo. Every little feature from the filling mechanism, weight, and size has been perfect for long writing sessions! It’s a pen I haven’t put down for hours now. (Excuse the crappy cursive, I’m one the first classes that wasn’t taught cursive in school)

The pilot custom 912 Heritage, with the FA (falcon) nib.

The only possible flaw I can think about with this pen is the converter! As is the nature of pilot pens lol! Con-40 and Con-70 have their drawbacks!

A perfect fountain pen nib in my eyes. Soft, flexible, yet not too much so. It’s well and easy to control, and the ink flow is neither too wet or dry. This is one of my daily carries. The body is very well designed with the grip being comfortable, having a rich glossy feel.

A Lamy dialog 3 with the coloration “palladium”. It has a lovely twist mechanism that feels satisfying in the hands. You can almost feel the mechanical parts moving in your hands! It’s also the heaviest pen (and absolute favorite) I own but still comfortable for use. The other three pens are pilot vanishing points! The matte black is a 1.0 stub nib I’ve personally grinded to an even larger line variation between horizontal and vertical strokes. The black and gold is the smoothest medium nib I’ve ever had the pleasure to use! It’s a daily workhorse for sure! The red and gold is a fine point that’s a tad sharp feeling but is great for a small cursive script. I may choose to smooth this one eventually. The ink bottle holding them up is Birmingham Pen Co Moon Jellyfish ink. And for those interested, the background writing is by Sam Fennahs YouTube video “Locket - Voice Test (Animation)” where one of his characters gives a speech. The animation is attached to a wonderful book named “Amygdala” that I recommend to all sci-fi and fantasy lovers!

I may have a particular pattern in which pens are my favorite… it’s not that I hate caps, but love these “odd” and non-traditional designs!

This is totally unimportant, but I found out if you blow into the “cap” of a pilot vanishing point fountain pen the same way you would a hollow bottle, it creates the most annoying high pitch sound ever. I might’ve driven my coworkers crazy finding out lol!

Full in support of high quality loose leaf tea. It lacks microplastics (mostly), and can be brewed almost a dozen times! Saves money!

I needed this. I went from making the most extravagant ink drawings frequently, to only doing calligraphy and writing. I’ve gotten subtle judgement since it’s not as “magnificent”, and I get asked “do you draw anymore”. Some even imply Im no longer an artist not understanding the diversity of art.

Here’s some good ones I’ve tried: Tesla coil, Quantum teal, Moon jellyfish of course, sterling silver, and tiger lilly!

I love that one too! I bought their massive 120ml bottle.

A black and gold pilot vanishing point pen, with a medium sized point, laid on a page covered with writing. It is leaned up against a bottle of Birmingham pen co, moon jellyfish ink. The writing shows a range of deep dark ocean blue, and a shining red color. Opposites shades with the same ink. The contrast is very beautiful and eye catching. Red sheen inks that shine brightly are uncommon, most being more matte than shiny, but this ink is an exception! Under deeper concentration, it indeed is shiny. The ink has no noticeable stickiness, slow drying, or smearing. It’s well suited for daily usage, and has an average flow. Of the 100 or more inks I have owned , this is a top 10 contender!

Birmingham Pen Co, Moon Jellyfish fountain pen ink, a most fantastic shade! From deep oceanic blue, to a striking dark and shining red, it is perfection! I received this bottle and can’t quit writing with it! I hope this is a continuing drop as I’d love to get more in the future.

The Pilot vanishing point fountain pen is so convenient! It’s my every day carry and serves well. I have the 1.0mm stub, and have a medium and fine point on the way! I love capless pens so much! Even the Lamy Dialog 3 proves to be as fantastic! Anyone else have capless models they enjoy?
