3 red apples on a countertop
That's our apple harvest in.
4 reasonable sized fruits and if these are as sweet and crisp as the 1st I will be really happy.

Had a trial run today of making paper pumpkins for the craft classes
Used strips of Halloween. Autumn and coffee themed craft paper with twisted tissue stalk and leaves

We have growing space but it gives such an advantage over the number of invasive weeds. My knees aren't up to that amount of weeding

I love how we start with a clean sheet each spring but getting the beds built this year will make such a difference from now on.
Using the largest of the squash (and I needed help cutting it up) I've made my first soup of the season.
Bit of nutmeg & cayenne pepper in this batch
That's the stitch I use for my dragon scale wrist warmers ☺️

Got a handful of purple sprouting broccoli and I've planted 20 garlic cloves in what was the squash bed.

I took the crab apple mix a stage further and turned it into cordial
It's a stunning colour!
A very productive day
In addition to putting a cabinet together with my daughter I had time in the garden.
Pruned back the curry plant and artemisia as they were taking over.
My roses are still flowering!

Timed our trip well, it's Louth's Food and Drink Festival.
Rain didn't dampen people's spirits
In July we were painting acrylic pendants and making paper sunflowers. We made pompoms for the centre of the flowers

I'm going to rectify that so I'm working backwards...
September: Autumn wreaths & dreamcatchers

Green tomato chutney made yesterday plus the remaining red tomatoes cooked and frozen ready to keep me going in cheese & tomato toasties over winter.
And to finish the tomato theme I used a couple of tins of plum tomatoes to make pizza topping.

Don't be disheartened if Simone rips out your efforts, in my case several times as it does make things better and then it suddenly clicks and you get the stitch into your head. Attacking the couch grass this month.
More cardboard down, LOTS of roots lifted and sometimes just a burn it all attitude
My husband has been a star doing the heavy digging, lifting & burning. There's no way I would have this much done without him
It's definitely a climber.

First job is seeing if it survives the winter, then if successful I work towards fruit.
