Default 20mph speed limit on restricted roads | National monitoring report (July 2025) | Transport for Wales Transport for Wales | Buy Cheap Train Tickets and Check Train Times

All the latest data from Transport for Wales is here (updated mid July).

The reduction in casualties is being achieved with minor increases in vehicle journey times (mostly under 2 mins) & greater journey time reliability.

As Drakeford rightly said in 2023: β€œβ€¦ it doesn't seem an unfair bargain”

Newcastle Light Rail is the first full catenary-free system in the southern hemisphere. Features like the revolutionary on-board energy storage and rapid charge system at the light rail stops saw the project awarded the Australian Construction Achievement Award in 2020.

The light rail system runs 2.7km in length from Wickham to Newcastle Beach, incorporating six stops and a light rail vehicle maintenance facility along the way.

The $252 million project, involving complex stakeholder interfaces and a busy urban environment, was delivered within the 60-month timeframe without compromising on quality or safety.

This project, delivered under a Managing Contractor model, is an excellent example of meeting critical milestones safely through positive relationships and communication between contractor, customer, city, council, and community.

There are bad transit projects.

And then there is spending $252 million for a 2.7 km tramway to replace a perfectly functioning railway to carry an impressive 2,900 people per day. Then getting an award for it.

This is the most Anglosphere thing ever.

Living in a country whose leaders are unspeakably evil and are arming and informing a genocide and feeling completely powerless to stop it - how long do they think they can keep a lid on millions of people feeling like this?

We saw it just recently: Zara Sultana announces new political party and the media's instant response is mockery, heck the Observer had to remove a racist cartoon.

Farage announces anything and it's met with adoration and detailed discussions.

Just insane levels of unbalance here.

I missed this yesterday, but two Labour councillors in Hammersmith and Fulham have defected to the Greens - Trey Campbell-Simon and Liz Collins. They cited things like a lack of action on child poverty and the rhetoric on immigration.

Not just nationalisation.

Public ownership is the first step we need to take to make our railways work for all 68 million of us and not just a hand full of greedy share holders.

We want the power put in our hands.

A great way to encourage people to cycle to the station is to tell them the parking you've provided is a bicycle theft hotspot
