Agreed. Indie animation is already booming as more kids watch YouTube indie animation than major studio shows(unless that show is already viral or made by internet creators). Glitches shows outperform most major studio animated shows while a lot of animation artists

Glitch literally established Glitch Presents to co finance other indie projects with streaming services in favor of exclusive streaming rights to shows like Lackadaisy.

@diamondtp.bsky.social also Nickelodeon has been virtually gutted. They canceled Garfield the tv show. They shelved tales of the TMNT and Dora, They probably canceled loud house. All to free up money to buy WB. Skydance gutted Nickelodeon.

I hope is film ember gets picked up because I want another hand drawn movie that doesn’t copy the Disney renniacnce. Maybe adapt a webcomic to combine anime with feature quality animation

It’s clear to me that the Hollywood studios are looking at the content Farms and want toy selling shows to be forced out within months. That’s why I think they arent greenlighting original shows.

I am thinking that’s why they are trying to stop the union and force ai. They already forced Moana 2 to be made in less than 11 months why not force films in only 4 months(jujitsu kaisen 0). I mean one punch man season 3 was forced by Bandai to be animated in less than a year

Agreed. Nostalgia is socially acceptable for kids stuff and unfortunately in the general masses is the only acceptable way to watch animated shows that aren’t adult stuff or anime. That’s why they are only greenlighting reboots

I’m concearned that the studios are just going to shift to distribution and just distribute existing indie shows/ foreign shows / YouTube hits I feel like that’s the lesson the studios are going to take from it.

They are already headed to YouTube indie animation because there is nothing for them to watch if the studios don’t respond indie animation will dominate and studios like @glitchprod.com will dominate with the kids
