If this team was actually young and had any need for a veteran place holder/leader I’d be all for this. Kind of why I don’t buy this search for Culture setters. Like for who? To what end?

Summer league takeaways:

1) Isaac Jones.

2) Clifford showed way more on-ball potential than I expected

3) Raynaud is skilled. Not impressed by the defense or rebounding at this point.

4) I’m not sure what Carter is actually good at.

Kind of what I figured. But watching them officiate makes me think they’d fit right in.

Do they use NBA refs in Summer League?

I really enjoy watching Isaac Jones play basketball.

If you really want to commit to finding the 3 & D guy… Plowden seems like the guy you want to give an opportunity to. Not sure what that means rn though.

Yeah think he’s a multi-skilled player which exciting as a big. But I’m not sure how good he actually is at any one thing. Like if he turns out to be rotational big, that’s a great outcome.

This is the most concerning thing- It’s literally like he doesn’t recognize what’s in front of him on the court. Looks indecisive, takes way too long to take the shot that’s wide open, makes easy passes way harder. Just feels off.

Also I think Raynaud can contribute year one, mostly because I’ve seen the back up centers the team has rolled out there over the last few season… but I’m not sure I actually buy the shooting at this point. Love his outlook though.

Devin Carter just like doesn’t know what to do with the ball. Makes everything harder than it needs to be.

Yeaaaah think I’m out on Crawford at this point.

Oblique I think

Drew Timme has maximized every ounce of skill and ability he has. He should get a real NBA opportunity.

Tre Johnson might be one of THOSE guys. Just a next-level bucket getter.

Yeah I think he’s more of a forward than a center but can do a little of both. John Collins-ish. Just conceptually, I think he and Raynaud is an interesting pairing skillset wise.

Pretty sure Ron Holland is going to be pretty good.

Oh yeah I listened to that episode of Game theory. I don’t think that’s a real rumor. Sam Vecenie was just brainstorming other wing options if the team was determined to move off of Monk and he just there Kuzma out there.

I think Jones just adds a totally different look at forward that they don’t really use and haven’t had in a while. Could be a good option off the bench. Really needs to rebound and defend to be viable though.

I think Isaac Jones has quietly been solid so far in summer league. Wondering if they give him a real rotation shot.

4. He had a good bounce back game! Happy he made shots! But it’s says way more when you’re bad in summer league as a 23 year old second year lottery pick than if you’re good. We already have seen him beat up on g-league competion

1. Relax.

2. judging him based on his college games & 30+ games in the pros which had a lot of stuff I didn’t buy.

3. Idc what draft experts say. You can’t really be a steal until you outplay your draft position. Which he hasn’t.
