State of Caring is the largest survey gathering experiences of unpaid carers. It is vital in campaigning for change and helped win rights and commitments including carer’s leave, extra payments, and the right to a break.

In Scotland, creating a two tier reserved system alongside devolved Adult Disability Payment (equivalent to PIP) will also create greater complexity for individuals, take money from the Scottish budget and public services and create greater demand on overstretched advice services

No-one knows what's around the corner... a diagnosis of cancer, a stroke, an accident. If this happens we need to know a true safety net is there. Disability benefits already don't meet the extra costs of disability. Any cut will cause irreparable harm, poverty and even greater impact on health

Changes to benefit reforms reduce saving from bill by Β£3bn in 2029-30 but create huge difference in support between claimants | Institute for Fiscal Studies These changes more than halve the saving of the package of reforms, making the Chancellor’s already difficult Budget balancing act much harder.

Whilst it's good that some concessions have been made to protect existing claimants, this simply isn't enough. Creating a 2tier system where people who become sick, disabled or unpaid carers after the cut off date will receive significantly less support is unacceptable 🧡

The minimum income guarantee is a way forward for this and more. The coming AI β€œrevolution” will see many roles just disappear, the same as happened in the Industrial Revolution.

Back then, there was widespread destitution, it took the state decades to catch up. The MIG is one way to counter that.

Not really. It's a three-way SNP, Reform or Labour. Listening to John Curtice on BBC Scotland, he's indicating Reform are picking up Labour and Conservative votes. Potentially though voter apathy might have an impact.
