Will you do a collection of sun and surf music? Hopefully with a Ballardian vibe?

Never thought of that. Most of my life teaching and academic jobs I had never paid a living wage. Living wage should be law. It really is a human right to me. If everyone had a living wage, think of how the arts would flourish.

What does that mean? I'm embracing a requirement for students to prove no AI was used in their work.

I thought there was always an inverse proportional relationship between job satisfaction and pay for most jobs, unless someone's lucky, rather than the average joe (using gender neutral joe). As prof/teacher salaries rose, working conditions and job satisfaction plummeted. Or am I missing something?

They're highly over rated anywhere I've seen them used, outside of absolutely practical uses, such as "Where are the eggs?" and "I think I have a splinter in my foot."

Should have mentioned that what I've done is put up 3 steel unistrut bars vertically. Screwed 2 of them to the walls. Then 2 across the top joined with a U bracket. Then hung 4 acoustic panels from them.

Done. First design didn't work, but I put in a centre post with 2 metal shims at the ground level and mounted the panels. Will need to be adjusted when @kemig.bsky.social comes to install the other panels. But good enough for now!

Building a truss that will get mounted in front of Studio RE/Lab's windows and I'll hang 4 acoustic panels from them. Has to be exactly 152.5" wide.

My thought of the day for myself: no amount of planning, patience and preparation can avoid the impending disaster in application.

I support Canadian Radio, and the CBC, but not the stupid music they play. There was a time that CBC wasn't the home for twee hipster twartling.

The Media's Pivot to AI Is Not Real and Not Going to Work AI is not going to save media companies, and forcing journalists to use AI is not a business model.

I'v tried to only interacted with people I can confirm are real, directly or through trusted others. I'm applying that thinking to media, to minimize LLM impact. I avert my gaze from AI summaries, until I can scroll past. Great article by 404 about the situation. www.404media.co/the-medias-p...
