I wear glasses, so 3D movies have never really worked for me anyway.

See, I haven't really heard about people being OFFENDED per se about Avatar. At most people are "meh" about it.

But the whole point was that it was going to be a cultural touchstone like Titanic was before it, and it's just not.

The difference is Avatar was supposed to be this huge movie that was going to completely change how movies were made and seen. The other ones you mentioned were mostly mid-level budget movies that were just movies, not once-in-a-lifetime events.

Plus, most of them are bad movies.

The first movie was basically Ferngully or Pocahontas...

Only those movies had better music.

Like all CGI, Avatar hasn't aged that well either.

Also, I don't have it on Blue Ray or DVD, and no plan to get it either. It's just... meh.

Like, we've all seen it, and it was supposed to make us all buy 3D TVs, but otherwise... What?

We don't have 3D TVs (and the gimmick isn't really in theaters anymore either), yeah there are sequels, but I don't think any of my friends or family have seen them. No Avatar Con. Just 🤷‍♂️

Valkyrie Profile was this $20 game I bought at Best Buy instead of Oddworld: Abe's Odyssey, and I never regretted that decision. Beautiful pixel art, amazing soundtrack, VOICE ACTORS. Plus an AMAZING story where each character gets a beautiful dramatic backstory. A masterpiece.

Also the games were rather light. There's not much THERE there, you know? Tennis & Boxing? Got boring fast. Those were the only games he ever had though

A friend of mine had rich parents so he had one. I remember playing Mario's Tennis and Teleroboxing on it.

It worked pretty well. The all red screen was odd, but you'd get used to it. The 3D effects looked pretty cool.

The worst part was how awkward it was to use it. Neck pain is real...

There's an episode of The Real Ghostbusters where they do a big reaction shot like you'd see in a manga, all panels with individual people showing their surprised expressions.

Rewatching these 80s cartoons that were all animated in Japan is a real treat for anime fans. They FEEL like anime.

Hell, you don't even need to go that far! If there was a doodad you could attach to a tractor that let you pick apples without bruising them we'd already be doing that! Or strawberries! Or grapes! or a LOT of kinds of fruits and vegetables!
