I've never seen one vandalised or seen stats that suggest they are more prone. (Although haters probably vandalise them now lazy, pointless "activism") And their safety record is good. Even my 4 year old one is streets ahead of many new cars. Elon is an awful person. But the cars are very good.

But lost a really good car.

The left needs to detoxify. Haters calling for abuse and celebrating vandalism of private property don't belong on the left.

But worse, it shows contempt for people. The only way of beating populism is to win people over. You will never bankrupt trump/musk/etc but you can, if you box clever, make them irrelevant.

But think about what you are asking. You want everyday people who bought a car in good faith to lose thousands in a bit to "tank" the resale price to have a negligible effect on new tesla price to cost elon a tiny amount which will have no effect on his relationship with trump. It's not worth it!

Fair question. The answer is yes, but interestingly Tesla uses some aspects of servicing as a loss leader so it might not even be necessary. There are plenty of 3rd party ev shops. But at some point down the line a spare part will likely become from Tesla. But we're taking trivial amounts of money.

But the true battle is not about Elon, it's about winning people over. We have to do more than just say "the other guys are bad". And this is where progressives get it wrong.

I gotta break it to you, you're not going to financially harm Elon Musk in any significant way by manipulating the second hand market. A boycott of new Teslas will hopefully get him removed as CEO, we will see.

It starts by examining what happens when things go right. Look at countries with low violent crime, and also look at lower violent crime than the UK. Start hypothesize about why that is and copy it. Yes, I make it sound simple but it is what needs to be done.

Honest answer: I don't know. But I suspect it's a lot of the first and also some of the second. But countries with a violent culture (USA, for eg) can also tackle that culture.

I disagree. For me, politicians are part of the "prison is the answer" populist outrage merry go round. Very few politicians want to tackle the massive social reforms needed because they won't see a return on the outlay quickly enough. It is a marathon not a sprint, but it is possible.

Sure, I don't know if you will ever 100% prevent this kind of crime but I am sure that the people who commit these crimes are not getting something they need at some point between conception and act of violence and I think a better society can reduce the risks massively.
