I unload 3 bales then ask myself if I can unload 3 more. I keep doing this until I'm done. I cut open the alfalfa and take 3 sections at a time because one bale is too heavy to lift.

Instead, I focus on unloading three bales at a time. I used to get overwhelmed looking at 21 bales waiting to be taken off the trailer. It used to feel intimidating- just like all the craziness of this week. Overwhelming.

When I get back, I look at 21 bundles of coastal and three bales of alfalfa waiting to be unloaded. I used to think I had to set the Guinness Book of World Records by unloading hay in the fastest time possible. I don't do that anymore.

My intention yesterday was to love on my critters and rest. Then I checked the weather app. Rain expected all next week. Shit. I'm almost out of baled hay. Time to pivot.

The hay place closes at noon so I get everyone fed, hook up the trailer and head out.
