Ouigo is a much more confortable product than Flixtrain
16.10.2025 16:27 — 👍 2 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0“Trains de nuit” is just a communication idea of government serves for them for saying “look we are pro-rail”. It is a niche, a mediatic product.
Bring back the old (2010s) TGV and Intercites offer it is much better idea than reinstating some night trains
In my opinion Istanbul-Ankara and Ankara-Sivas should be built in that way too… The only HSL line which is a good idea is Polatli-Konya section
01.10.2025 08:55 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0Also actually Turkey doesn’t have any 250 km/h HSL project. All planned or at construction lines are 200 km/h mixed lines. Maybe it is better that way…
01.10.2025 08:48 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 2 📌 0Izmir-Ankara HSL is also recently been “downgraded” from 250 km/h HSL to a 200 km/h conventional mixed line…
01.10.2025 08:08 — 👍 2 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0What do you thing about that the SNCF Voyageurs announces every year that they are broken a new record on ridership ?
Trustworthy or not ? (Not really for me)
Big brother should know all your travels in Turkey…
16.09.2025 19:15 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0You can’t book a train or a coach without your national ID number in Turkey…
And when they are checking your tickets on a train, no need to show your ticket, they only ask for your ID
Privacy… “a la turca” huh…
Im sure that in a few years, you won’t be able travel with train without your ID
11.09.2025 16:41 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0SNCF was doing the same at the very beginning of InOui branding. For the 1st class passengers between Paris and Lyon. We were asked if we want to have a taxi booked for us on our arrival.
29.08.2025 21:39 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0Turkish railways does not have any jingle lol, the one in the video is the jingle of Istanbul Metro…
25.08.2025 21:24 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0Is there some political agenda behind this growing interest for #CrossChannelRail ?
Just asking, don’t even have an idea but i am curious.
According to what I’ve heard, in a few years, Interrail will be restricted to certain trains of the day on a route, just like TGVMax.
For example, if there are 20 trains daily between Paris and Lyon, you’ll only be able to take one or two of them with an Interrail pass.
Good to hear so !
03.08.2025 21:11 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0Except BFC and AURA…
03.08.2025 21:07 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0Watching trains blast past at 140 km/h right in front of me at this abandoned (and never-used) halt almost makes me feel like I’m back in France—or any western EU country.
02.08.2025 16:56 — 👍 2 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0The Menemen-Aliağa section (25 km) in the north of the Izmir is the fastest section in all of the non-HSR network in Turkey, used only by commuter trains, where they can run at 140 km/h without any interruption…

@felixonrails.ch
It is mostly to save on costs and less responsiblity for them
And also they don’t even trust their own employees for a such assesment 😃😃
Also it is a tradition at TCDD to increase running time after major renovations…
31.07.2025 17:58 — 👍 2 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0For TCDD standards the line speed between Kapıkule-Halkalı can be considered good with long sections which permits stable running at 115 km/h…
However, after the Çorlu derailment in 2018, the operating speed of the services was significantly reduced…
As a Turkish it is expensive for what it is.
TCDD changed its pricing policy at the beginning of this year in all lines, they are not seeking an “affordable pricing” policy like before, instead, they started to doing overpricing, trains are more expensive even than travelling by your car…
It all started with “L’avion est mieux que le TGV” speeches around 2017-18
Then continued with “Il faut investir dans le reseau classique” “C’est a cause de tout-TGV” speeches…
The demonisation of TGV… Once a national pride… They created a anti-TGV sentiment
I guess that train travel in France will become like in USA, Canada and Australia
-In long distances (TGV, Intercites) train will become a “niche” product like Amtrak or Via Rail
-And we will have indépendant “urban” rail systems, all financed only by “collectivités locales” like Metra or CalTrain
HSR in France are not only stagnant, but declining… I wonder what it will be like in 30 years
30.07.2025 08:31 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0It is doubtful that the ones in France or Germany are a "modern" railway network anyway.
Despite being the two largest economic powers in Europe…

25.07.2025 20:41 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0Now they are underinvesting on TGV lines too… Most TGV lines are in alarming state
