I spent many hours watching body cams two years ago and then comparing what I saw with police reports.

I was appalled at the inaccuracy of some of the reports.

In one case they failed to report that a man died (from police gunshot).

I support law enforcement, but clearly some cleanup is needed.

A very small proportion of the population reads 85% of books.

We do read, but we are few. Many people never read another book after graduating from high school.

This Portland police officer stood up for his community against ICE agents trying to drive into a crowd of protesters.

It's vitally important that we get the message out to the public that this is due to the gov. shutdown and why the shutdown is happening. Many people do NOT follow politics.

If they aren't informed, you-know-who will blame it on someone else.

Saw this coming years ago and it's very disturbing. They want to integrate local devices with external ones (like cloud services) which would eventually leave us completely dependent on them and on being online (where they can potentially monitor everything we do).

Dangerous trend.

I don't want to dampen the enthusiasm of those taking the time to get out on the streets to protect our constitutional rights, but "Abolish ICE" it too confrontational to get any kind of message across to those illegally kidnapping people off the streets.

At this "riot" in Portland, people are sassing each other, people in the left back are dancing. Some are just sauntering around.
Someone is wearing a frog suit.

There's sporadic shouting, but most of it is calm. They're talking about burgers.

This does not meet any definition of a "riot".

2/ New reporting says the helicopter may not have landed on a car, that the third victim may have been on the helicopter.

It was a medical helicopter, all aboard were apparently associated with the helicopter (no patient on board). Details are changing as they are updated.

A video shows an agent turn a vehicle left into hers. He exits, and says, “Do something b----.” Then the agent shot Martinez full of seven bullet holes.

She bled profusely at the hospital while agents tried taking her.

ICE admitted when they conducted their large Chicago raid that 50–60% of those they detained were "targeted".

Think about that.

It means that 40–50% of them were kidnapped WITHOUT warrants or any probable cause or reasonable suspicion to apprehend or detain them. HALF of those apprehended.

Don't overlook the connections between Donald Trump and True the Vote (Catherine Engelbrecht).

Phillips and Engelbrecht were falsely pointing fingers at NGOs as having "ballot mules" and committing election fraud (none of which held up in court).

They were targeting black people and Dems.

Schumer seems to be living by a "gentleman's agreement" code of conduct that no longer exists.

He doesn't seem aware that Trump is not acting in good faith for Americans, he's acting on behalf of himself and his rich donors. Any argument about helping regular Americans will fall on deaf ears.

There is no "insurrection" in Portland as per Trump's claim.

The Constitution grants rights to freedom of speech, peaceful assembly and protest.

ICE recently ADMITTED that 40–50% of those swept up in the Chicago raid were not "targeted".

All Americans should be protesting unlawful apprehensions.

I've never understood why I have so many fellow Americans who take pride in being dumb and ignorant.

On X, in particular, I met many who literally bragged about being school dropouts and about not knowing anything about the rest of the world.

Spanish is a beautiful language and one of the easier languages for an English speaker to learn.

I regret I didn't study it when I was young but I still plan to learn it some day.

I'm really tired of American anti-intellectualism. We're so dumb. Many of my friends in Europe speak 5 or 6 languages.

I read her books in the order she wrote them and you can clearly see her building on the same themes that she wrote about in the beginning, culminating in Atlas shrugged.

Stand up for human rights. All Americans, not just wealthy ones.

Stand up for the Rule of Law, the Constitution, and human decency.

If those are your core values, the rest falls into place.

Trump has always claimed to be 6' 3" even though when he stands on level ground, he's the same height as Obama, which is 6' 1".

J.D. Vance is 6'2". You can see he's about an inch taller than Trump in this photo. Trump doesn't even report his height honestly (and is said to sometimes wear lifts).

AI doesn't take mega resources.

My guess is that the real resource hog is the data they're feeding the AI and that they are likely poaching the intellectual property of hundreds of millions of people worldwide.
