Doctor Who: tall, old, white hair
The Master: shorter, salt and pepper beard

“And what did you do?”
“Reversed the polarity”
“And…?”
“Now the neutron flow is fucked.”

a brown wire-haired pup stands on a wooden deck in a grassy yard. he looks at us with golden eyes and his right ear flipped inside out. he has a pipe-shaped stick in his mouth, giving him the appearance of a sophisticated and dapper gentleman. just give him a deerstalker cap and a cloak, and he'd give Sherlock Holmes a run for his money.
This pup found a stick shaped like an old timey pipe earlier today and has already solved three mysteries. 13/10

On 24 June 2018, Öpik was elected as the chairman of the self-
proclaimed and unrecognised parliament of the micronation
Asgardia during the first parliamentary session in Vienna, Austria. “The birth of the
new space nation Asgardia" was announced in a press conference in Paris, France, on 12 October
2016, Öpik was elected for a second term as Chair of Asgardian Parliament on 25 August
Asgardia, also known as the Space Kingdom of Asgardia and Asgardia the Space Nation, is a
"virtual nation" formed by a group of people who have launched a satellite into Earth orbit. 4 They refer to themselves as "Asgardians" and they have given their satellite the name "Asgardia-1". They have declared sovereignty over the space occupied by and contained within Asgardia-1. The Asgardians have adopted a constitution!51 and they intend to access outer space free of the control of existing nations and establish a permanent settlement on the Moon by 2043.
Out of nowhere, I was struck by the question, ‘Lembit Öpik… what was his fucking deal again?’ And was rewarded beyond my wildest dreams.

Screenshot of an audio drama: The X Files: Cold Cases, by Joe Harris, Chris Carter, Dirk Maggs. Narrated by (starring) David Duchovny, Gillaian Anderson. The artwork for the release is a moody close-up of Mulder, and Scully's faces looking forwards.
This is the audio drama I listened to a few years ago.

I remember not being bothered about the YA episode adaptations - I wanted 'proper' novels! I may have to catch up the adult novels. Might go for the remaining Kevin J. Anderson as he's a reliable author.

I don't remember 'Skin.' The only other books I read were 'Whirlwind' & 'Ground Zero' Just remembered I listened to a full-cast audio drama of a graphic novel called 'Cold Cases' which was decent.

Some important firsts today. It's the debut of Kirk's second green top, the more iconic one (it was in DS9 and Enterprise) that's also meant to suck Shatner's gut in.
Plus a first 360° walk around the bridge and, most importantly for future budgets, a sister ship!

Today on Batman, West's Batman as a "duly deputised" cop finally goes too far in his endorsement of parking meters.

a conversation between the crew of the Enterprise D.
Picard: Good god, didn't anyone here watch TOS as a boy?
Worf: I watchted Battlestar Galactica
Date: I especially liked the Cylons
Chief O'Brian: I was in TOS, sir
Everyone looks at him weird.
O'Brian: Well, I will be.
Referencing that he was in a time travel episode during Deep Space Nine
This is still my absolute favourite Star Trek meme.

Not heard of these. I read, and enjoyed a few of the original X Files novels in the 90s. The best one was 'Ruins' by Kevin J. Anderson. (I also had the audiobook (on CASSETTE!) read brilliantly by Mitch Pileggi.

For the last Smash Hits of the 90s, they asked the then-current crop of popstars what they'd like to do in 2000. Most should've said "not get dropped by the label so I have to give tug jobs in the park for a fiver". No such worries for "Beyonci" though... 😬
