And if you are interested in watching any presentation (including mine), here's the link: forms.office.com/e/9Nx9mYEdy3
Spread the word: I'm looking to hire a postdoc to explore the concept of attention (as studied in psych/neuro, not the transformer mechanism) in large Vision-Language Models. More details here: lindsay-lab.github.io/2025/12/08/p...

This role looks truly exciting. I hope the right person comes along quickly. Good luck! 🙂

Poster for the XIV Workshop on Philosophy of Biology and Cognitive Sciences. The background is dark green with large yellow text and decorative abstract flower illustrations in red, yellow, and green at the corners. Dates ‘18–19 June’ appear at the top right, along with the venue: UNED, Edificio de Humanidades, Paseo de la Senda del Rey 7, Madrid. The keynote speakers are Enara García (SDU), Alejandro Fábregas-Tejeda (KU Leuven), and José Antonio Pérez-Escobar (UNED). A bold yellow banner reads ‘Call for Abstracts,’ with a deadline of 15 January. At the bottom is a contact email: xivpbcs@gmail.com
I am incredibly honored to have been invited as one of the keynote speakers for the XIV PBCS! This long-standing initiative is very supportive of graduate students & early-career researchers, so I encourage everyone to submit their abstracts! See you in Madrid next year! #HPS #HPbio #cogsci #philsky

Back then, I used to add lots of memes and cool pictures in my slide presentations. This cartoon by @petemandik.bsky.social is hilarious and perfect for an illusionist&Dennettian talk.

26.11.2025 15:35 — 👍 9497 🔁 2563 💬 22 📌 48The Attention in Contemporary Consciousness Science workshop was exactly the kind of meeting I needed to start understanding how my PhD connects with my main research topic: consciousness. My talk was warmly debated, and I had a great time in Pilsen. Thanks, Michal Polak and @tmarvan.bsky.social !
25.11.2025 17:45 — 👍 7 🔁 1 💬 1 📌 0Now my new objective is to advance these arguments by connecting them with attention.
25.11.2025 17:22 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0This chapter basically ties predictive processing with illusionism by replacing Seth's "hallucination" with "illusion". I think it works better and enables us to talk about subjectivity without the trad-philosophical heaviness.
25.11.2025 17:21 — 👍 2 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0Here I am turning my attention to consciousness again, when I revisited my chapter on human subjectivity and realized it is actually a good text (I think)! I have issues with my published stuff, but this time I enjoyed reading it. philpapers.org/rec/IENAPA

I recently presented at the 5th AAIS, sharing the part of my research that explores, challenges, and bridges ActInf within neuroscience and the phil of attention. This marks a milestone in the development of my arguments, which I’ve been refining throughout the year.
Congratulations!

We compared deer mice evolved in forest vs prairie habitats. We found that forest mice have:
(1) more corticospinal neurons (CSNs)
(2) better hand dexterity
(3) more dexterous climbing, which is linked to CSN number🧵

Hi hello did you know that Elon Musk's third Neuralink patient (previously nonverbal) is "getting help from Grok" to communicate
and I hope -- I REALLY HOPE -- he's not stuck in his own brain listening as a robot talks for him without his input because this, to me, would be worse than death
