It could be. I don’t see tons of mud sticking to their shoes, which I know it would. But, I’m about 70 miles SW of them and it’s been raining hard every afternoon since Sunday. Looking out across the desert from where I am, I see nothing but black clouds in their direction.

I’ve been burning slash on our property the last few days. The burn piles get pretty intense. I call this one ‘The Dog of Hades’.

I’ve always loved that building.

I recognize the one in the middle.

Recently spent a week at an uncrowded resort on Mexico’s west coast where we had one of the pools to ourselves at times. Warm, relaxing water is such a luxury!

Storm clouds and sand. Eureka Dunes, Death Valley

Giant Sequoia, the best time to visit Sequoia National Park is when it is snowing hard and people can’t make it up the road.

The fog bank off the coast of Half Moon Bay the other day looked like a giant tsunami wave was headed toward us.

Beautiful day on Monterey Bay yesterday. This was the view from our restaurant table at Old Fisherman’s Grotto, which has great food and service.

First day of the season for me and my son and I pushed it pretty good. Really surprised at how little snow there is, though. Not a good sign for mid-January.
