My wife is trans and doesn't pass. We don't feel safe going to protests as she is a primary target to both the administration & the campaign of hate against transness. Please, if you can go to a protest, do. We're calling people, donating $$ & passing on info. Please stand for us when we cannot.

Reports of my death have been premature. I am, however, still terrible at posting. I was reminded today that I have a tiny pair of antlers & for years when I had my kitty Josh, I'd put them on his head on 12/25 & see how long it took him to rip them off & plan my death. Usually it was ~ 4 seconds.

I give primary characters temporary names - the more boring the better. After I've written a scene or 2 with them, I go back and give a new name that suits the character. I also do a quick review of the scene to make sure the new name/personality works, and end up doing some good editing.

Woohoo! It wasn't exactly a win, but it definitely wasn't a loss. People who are not trans or trans allies can feel a little safer knowing there's still one additional barrier between losing their own rights.

I talked with my boss before I left for vacation. I brought her up to speed on the danger to trans folks & how it might affect my job. She was super supportive and asked me to keep her abreast of updates and changes, both in the world and my personal situation so she can support me however she can.

Back from Hawaiin and news vacation. So much has happened, been rolled back, and new atrocities proposed.

I wish the new administration had taken at least 1 government class because there are 5th graders out there who know more about how the government works than the Executive branch right now.

The game console read to me as "Elden King." That would be hilarious: you're Jesus & you have to duck & parry weapons & slander from heathens while using bolts of holy light & crowns of thorns to take them down. Any of your blood & flesh torn off in the fight turns into bread & wine to heal you.

Being an adult means you can get mostly toys for Christmas (and the good, name brand ones you want) but also having steak, salad, and Yorkshire puddings for dinner while watching The Thin Man. I am super lucky and very privileged and I try not to forget it. Happy Holidaze to you all!

I am currently playing the game, "Which of my cats is snoring?" If they had kitty c-pap devices, we'd invest. The snores are cute but loud.

Text reads: robut arm, anyone? Then a Cthulhu pet that featured on the same comic that had the two aforementioned outifits, with a red, squiggly-tentacled head, a green neck with a black collar, and two tiny T. rex arms, then a lizardy body that is blue with white-striped legs and tail. Text reads: Lookit this weird dog!

Another page of weird aminals and and outfits! Aminials are a non-JP-velociraptor, feathered and kitty-sized. Text reads: Danger Chicken! Then a mini-dragon, drawn to sit on on the shoulder of the paper doll. Dragon has a purple body and wings, with a white belly and orange horns! Text reads: How much more boss can you get than having a dragon on your shoulders? None more boss. First outfit is Dani Utah's actual clothes. A pink tank top with a red Gatchaman symbol on the front, tan cargo pants rolled up to mid calf, and slip-on free running shoes. Also her weird staff with a long, thin sword hidden inside. Text reads: Causal wear for the street magician on the go! Next outfit is a leather armor set, with high boots and puffy, striped pants! Skulls feature on the spaulders, and a belt of many pouches. Also, a short sword worn across the back. Text reads: Check it! Rogue is the best type class for reasons! The last outfit, is the FREAKING VR-041 Saber Cyclone (if Robotech) or Ride Armor VR-041H Blowsuperior Yellow (if Genesis Climber Mospeada) The main body of the armor is blue, with white on thighs and light blue on upper arms. with trans pride color bars near the bottom of the tassets. Text reads: Every girl needs her own battle armor. The VR-041H Heavy Armor Cyclone comes with it's own giant switch blade!

MOAR Outfits, and one officially and legally-distinct non-Scooby Doo Great Dane! The Great Dane is sitting, and has brown coloration that is COMPLETELY a few shades off from a very different dog with mild speech apraxia, and the pupper has a zombie hand in its mouth. Text reads: Oh for Pete's sake. What've you got in your mouth now? The first outfit is NOT Velma Dinkley's. with a big orange turtleneck, a pleated magenta miniskirt, orange knee-high socks, and magenta Mary Jane flats. The legs that would cover the doll's legs are bruised and bear a bloody bandage on the right thigh. Text reads: Jinkies! Looks like that werewolf wasn't old man McGregor after all! There is also a brown bag full off pointy wooden sticks, with a text note that reads: You can offer the vamps stakes for dinner. Sigh. Second outfit is... well, it's 1990's Jim Lee Rogue, with the yellow and green body suit, brown bolero-cut jacket, and knee-high yellow boots. Yellow gloves, too. Text reads: Who is your favorite X-Man and why is it Rogue? Then there is a brown-haired wig with a white stripe that would cover the doll's blonde hair. Text reads: My stylist IS Pepe Le Pew. Why do you ask? Last outfit is a weird monster-bunny onesie, with blousy sleeves that cover the hands all the way to the tips of the fingers, legs that are SUPER baggy, but tighten at the ankles for bare feet. The colors are soft trans pride. Text reads: Creepy pyjamas!

An almost Cat 1 Hurricane was predicted to come into parts of WA last night. We got battered, but not nearly as bad as folks further south of us. We lost power on and off but its on now. The yard (& probably our roof) is littered with giant branches. I hope everyone in the PNW is safe & warm today.

I finally got a new job! It starts tomorrow. The work is what I specialize in/am really good at. It's WFH. The benefits are awesome. I love my new manager. We had a call on Friday to check in about onboarding and we talked for more than 15 minutes because we liked each others' brains. Wish me luck!
