19.02.2026 20:15 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I see reports of officials and agencies and corporations still using Twitter as some kind of official channel for communication and I'm appalled. It's like having an important public notice board positioned in the sticky back room of a Nazi stripper club.

19.02.2026 03:30 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0A Threads post from the_mad_end writes: Dear Leftists, The OG (old guard) Civil RIghts activists were literally getting beat upside the head to fight for the right to vote, just so they can get to the polls and choose which racist on the ballot was going to be least harmful to the community. Like WTF didyou think they were doing in 1969? What quality of candidates did you think they had to choose from? Modern Leftists need to grow the fuck up and realize this is a LONG, incremental process. The OGs didn't get fire hosed, bit by dogs, billy clubbed, because the Great Leftists Messiah was on the ballot. No, it was "hey, which flavor of racist can I best survive under for the next four years?" Are you all too good to make those type of hard choices? Is it beneath you to do what the ancestors NEEDED to do to survive? This blueprint for progress not working for you? Because it's all we got. That's the legacy. That's the strategy. Y'all pouting your way to liberation ain't the way."
There's voting, and there's politics:

You know what you can feed your kids instead? Billionaires. Actually edible. Probably bad for you, debatably better than starving.

"We TOLD you a boat-anchor was a bad idea."
"You have to pity us!"
"No, no we don't."
I'm sure he'll work with the city council to send more money to the police.
18.02.2026 17:59 β π 10 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Clueless billionaire suggests people should feed their children on tax savings from nonexistent income. "Let them eat rebates!"
18.02.2026 13:56 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0His assertion is painfully naive. The Left can't win by "strategically abandoning" the (for example) 'school furry community' that the Right simply invented. No school provides 'litter boxes for students who identify as cats.' The MSM forces the Left into these absurd lose-lose defensive postures.
18.02.2026 13:51 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0It isn't "intellectually consistent" to call for a "no/minimal cost" poll tax & then point out that voter fraud is effectively nonexistent.
Poll taxes have been ruled unconstitutional. The "intellectually consistent" position is that our political and pundit classes have become hopelessly corrupt.
At least Hitler could paint.
17.02.2026 18:20 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I was 25 years old sitting in O'Hare airport when he walked by. I later got a photo of the Queen Mother from about the same distance on that roll of film. Really should have gone into photojournalism!
17.02.2026 14:07 β π 98 π 4 π¬ 2 π 0In a photograph taken in OHare Airport in 1987, Jessie Jackson is center looking at the camera, walking beside a security officer scowling at the camera, and in front of two other men.
In 1987 I spent an 8-hour layover in O'Hare figuring out how to use my father's borrowed 35mm camera. Just as I felt confident I knew how to use it I looked up and Jessie Jackson walked by. I scurried ahead of him to get this photo and man did that annoy his security team! So this is my first photo.

Given everything going on I feel a little guilty about having fun, but the weekend was very nice. Went on a date to Phoenix with my wife, saw the ballet on Friday, then visited Boyce Thompson Arboretum in Superior on Saturday. On Sunday had lunch with my new in-laws at Tohono Chul.
Can't complain.
Distressing, ain't it? Still don't understand how that got approved. Wanted to abuse the vehicle but the spouse said no!
