Mazel tov to Chloรซ Grace Moretz and Kate Harrison, who married over the weekend. Vogue reports that Moretz wore a Louis Vuitton gown that has me frothing with anticipation for the long-awaited return of my favorite historical bridal fashion trend: the "bridal blue" or "celestial blue" wedding dress!

A group of about 50 women and 5 men arranged outdoors in 4 rows. The first row of 10 women is seated. Everyone else is standing, all in front of a dark colored clapboard mill building fitted with closely set 6 over 6 windows. One window is open. Large text is painted on the building. The text thatโs visible reads โTTING MILLSโ
The women are all quite young, some just barely in their teens. Many of the women wear light colored blouses with elbow length sleeves and long dark skirts. Several of the women are wearing large coverall aprons.
The 3 men at the center back appear to be wearing work clothes. A young man on the left wears a waistcoat and jacket but no collar or tie. An older man on the right wears a waistcoat over a light shirt worn with a tie and a stiff collar. He is looking to his right (possibly trying to spot the person who just giggled)
For #LaborDay Iโd like to share this photo of picture day at the knitting mill. Thought to be Pennsylvania, about 1905

A three-row necklace made up of over 500 beads, primarily crafted from limestone and jet, arranged in a horseshoe shape against a black background. The beads are irregularly shaped and strung closely together.
Fashionable some 6,000 years ago: a stunning Neolithic three-row necklace from Sachsenheim, dating to around 4,000 BC. This remarkable piece, which comprises more than 500 limestone and jet beads, is a witness to both craftsmanship and style.

My photo shows a rectangular, short-sleeved, creamy-coloured linen tunic adorned with contrasting brown bands around the neckline, down the sides, and along the hem. Length 123.5 cm x 115 cm.
It is one of seventeen short-sleeved linen tunics excavated in 1906 by Ernesto Schiaparelli from the intact Theban tomb (TT8) of Kha and his wife Merit at Deir el-Medina.
Kha was the โDirector of Worksโ responsible for supervising the workers who constructed and decorated the royal tombs in the Valley of the kings.
A remarkably well-preserved 3,400 year-old linen tunic with contrasting bands around the neckline and along the side edges.
It belonged to an ancient Egyptian official named Kha. Excavated from Theban Tomb TT8 at Deir el-Medina in 1906.

My photo shows a mannequin wearing a brown-coloured woollen hood with long knotted fringe on display at the National Museum of Scotland in Edinburgh. It was found in peat moss on the island of Orkney in 1867. Organic clothing rarely survives. This woven hood is remarkably well-preserved for its age. Radio-carbon dated to AD 250 - AD 615.
Wow, the amazing โOrkney Hoodโ is so well preserved it looks like it was woven yesterday rather than c. 1,600 years ago!
Found in peat in 1867, this remarkable woollen hood from Iron Age Orkney likely belonged to a child. AD250 - AD615

This reed basket is around 2,500 years old. It probably belonged to an Egyptian woman of some status and would have been used to store cosmetics, jewellery and other small household items. The super dry Egyptian climate has perfectly preserved an otherwise perishable item. Weโre lucky to see it
