New Yorkers are going hungry this month. We need your help!

The feds say that partial SNAP benefits will be released, NYS usually takes weeks to process & the feds say it will only pay 50% of benefits for Nov, meaning people will be food-insecure for most of the month. bit.ly/47DCfWl

Join us today to save SNAP, say NO to rushed, harmful, punitive work requirements, and call on President Trump to release the money for November SNAP benefits NOW!

Allowing people to go hungry for political gain is abhorrent. Hungry people should never be used as pawns.

To fill empty apartments for homeless people, NYC will first start tracking them More than 5,000 units of supportive housing were vacant in June, officials said.

NYC has 5,000 vacant supportive housing units sitting empty while thousands are street homeless. We could use every single one of those to house people now.

Instead, @nycdhs.bsky.social spends millions doing sweeps attacking homeless people #StopTheSweeps #HouseTheHomeless

The State Appellate Division has affirmed what we’ve always known: the Council has the authority to act on behalf of New Yorkers in crisis.

The mayor must stop obstructing CityFHEPS reforms that will allow people to stay in their homes and find permanent, stable housing.

We applaud today’s ruling which is a well-deserved win for New Yorkers, the City Council, and every single homeless and formerly homeless person who fought for the CityFHEPS Laws to pass, only to see the Mayor ignore them. While the City states it doesn’t want to spend money on CityFHEPS, we know that it costs far more to house someone in shelter than it costs to house someone in an apartment, with the City spending as much as $10,000 / month for someone to be in shelter.

Mayor Adams tried to use every excuse not to help people who are homeless and facing eviction. As a result, it’s been two years since the Laws passed, and tens of thousands of people have been evicted and have remained stuck in shelters and on the streets because of the Mayor. Irreparable damage has been done and these people cannot get back what they lost. Those evictions and years of unnecessary homelessness are on the Mayors’ hands. Now is the Mayor’s chance to be accountable, take responsibility, and do the right thing by implementing the CityFHEPS Laws. It's time for him to reverse course before more lives are destroyed and more harm is done.

πŸ“The Bronx is the epicenter of NYC’s housing crisis.

8 of the 10 highest-risk districts are located in the Bronx. And nearly every Bronx community ranks in the top 30 for housing threats citywide.

It’s time for the NYC Council to fully fund CHPS at $4.95M in FY26!

The proposal passed by one vote and Malliotakis, as the only Republican House Representative in NYC, did nothing to protect her constituents. If this reconciliation budget bill passes it will have devastating impact on Medicaid, Medicare, SNAP, Section 8 and NYCHA recipients.

It’s hard enough for SNAP recipients to provide for their families with prices rising and cuts looming. Now they have to worry about their private data being put into DOGE & Trump's massive federal surveillance database without their consent.
