sheβs laughing about it because haha interview time, but itβs incredibly bleak!

12.07.2025 11:50 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Today @jessicavalenti.bsky.social shared about a South Carolinian who was arrested for her pregnancy outcome, Iβll link that story below, but I wanted to come on here and let yβall we will be posting her bond tomorrow at 8:30 am. If you can help at all: donorbox.org/legal-fees
11.07.2025 20:26 β π 108 π 98 π¬ 2 π 12yes, my feelings exactly!
04.07.2025 18:12 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0as always, it is indie clinics who will stick their necks out to make sure people get the care they need.
04.07.2025 02:28 β π 1 π 1 π¬ 1 π 0Bad faith was my exact thought when I read that letter.
28.06.2025 15:54 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Seriously?! WTF.
28.06.2025 15:53 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0BREAKING: The Supreme Court has ruled in Medina v. Planned Parenthood, the case stemming from South Carolina's attempt to kick Planned Parenthood out of Medicaid.
The Court rules 6-3 that Medicaid doesn't give individuals an unambiguous right to challenge this type of decision.
Thanks for the reminder @janemunday.bsky.social. Every summer, I repost this article DROWNING DOES NOT LOOK LIKE DROWNING. To date, I know of FOUR kids who were saved after someone who'd clicked on the link learnt how to spot actual drowning. Take time to read and pass on.

20.06.2025 23:23 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0In April, a strange website appeared, offering abortion "concierge" services. In May, it started contacting clinics.
"If you are paying us to coordinate for you, we will provide certified, safe clinics in our network who treat you like a Princess, πβ the organization wrote to a secret shopper.
Reading any news item causes my brain to involuntarily repeat the Mountain Goats refrain "I hope you die / I hope we both die"

18.06.2025 11:23 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0it was a sign to me that #adoptees are finally being heard when @gretchensisson.bsky.social , who isnβt adopted, replied to someone asking βWhat options for family-building are left without adoption?β with βNo one is owed a child.β
30.05.2025 12:43 β π 75 π 12 π¬ 3 π 6Theyβve turned her into a literal incubator. Thatβs how much our lives are worth. This is so heartbreaking and infuriating.
14.05.2025 23:10 β π 38 π 6 π¬ 0 π 0medicine, too! admin introduces ambient AI to write your notes. they see this as managing your unreal workload more effectively, but long-term they plan to lay off the RNs and medical assistants who support you and your patients and justify an increase in the number of patients you see per day.
14.05.2025 15:16 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0A screencap from STAT News Morning Rounds. It has a picture of a Covid virus with a goofy maze inside it and a vaccine entering the maze. The headline somehow reads βExperts may agree with RFK Jr. on fewer Covid shots.β WHY.
This framing is so disingenuous and harmful. Even IF ACIP decides not to recommend annual Covid vax for all (and as far as I know, thatβs still an IF), I guarantee you it will not be because they *agree* with RFK Jr. Once again, do better, @statnews.com. #medsky
14.05.2025 00:41 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0He will, of course, leave behind an important legacy. But itβs also important to mention that there are other providers who have already been providing later care!
13.05.2025 20:31 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0The best later abortion reporting Iβve ever read. Thank you @amylittlefield.bsky.social for lifting up our patients and staff in such a tender, respectful way, and for calling out the terrible political decisions that got us viability bans.
13.05.2025 19:41 β π 46 π 12 π¬ 1 π 0Apparently, Casey Means might just be the βrightβ pick because her wellness grift aligns perfectly with this guyβs penchant for fatphobia (the greatest pandemic of our time is not Covid, itβs obesity, dontcha know?!). Honestly, shame on @statnews.com for publishing this ποΈ. #medsky

11.05.2025 00:26 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0As healthcare providers, we need to take seriously the disastrous environmental impact of AI! Iβm consistently gobsmacked by the total lack of critical thinking on the part of so many doctors. This will never be a solution to our workload and to the misplaced incentives in medicine. #medsky
10.05.2025 16:51 β π 6 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Ugh, thatβs the worst.
10.05.2025 01:06 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0No speculum! Just a swab that goes in the vagina. Itβs nice that this exists but people can already ask their providers about self-collected paps! Many of us already offer self-swab in the office for folks who prefer not to have a spec exam. Requires a visit but is covered by insurance!
10.05.2025 00:54 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 2 π 0In the year since Florida's six-week abortion ban went into effect, Chicago Abortion Fund says it has supported more than 360 Floridians with over $180,000 in assistance.
In total, CAF has distributed more than $850,000 to callers from the Deep Southβa 71% increase from before the FL 6-week ban.
