XO-3 is the sole exception, where its misalignment may have been triggered by a stellar companion. The upcoming Gaia epoch data can test this hypothesis.
10.12.2024 13:37 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 01/3 We presented new Rossiter-McLaughlin effect measurements for the massive planet/brown dwarf XO-3 (Mp ~ 13 MJ) using NEID spectra. We confirmed that it remains misaligned (~41 degrees) with no evidence of temporal variation.
