Counting down the days until the release of this next book in my PNW crime/suspense series! I have to warn readers, this next chapter gets pretty dark as Shane’s world collapse and the stakes get higher. But there are also some revelations about his past that heal some old wounds… 😉

It’s official! I’ll be kicking off the release of the next book in my Shane McPhearson series, “Harbinger of Truth,” at @citylightscinemas once again! I’m really looking forward to meeting and talking with fans of the series! See you all then!

I’m getting very excited about the release of the next book in my series on Nov. 15th. It never gets old… I mean, I’m getting older, but not the excitement of a new book release 😄

Waiting for Fox News to show footage of Saturday’s marathon in Portland, explaining how “people are seen here running for their lives in war-ravaged Portland. It’s so bad that residents are required to wear numbers so they can be identified…” 🙄

Whenever Fox says “BREAKING NEWS” all I see is “BROKEN NEWS!”

I’m sure Fox will either show a tight shot of the 5 protestors and report about unruly crowds of anarchists, or old footage of the Watts riots and call it antifa.

There are two types of people at the gym: 1) the person who sets the weights back to zero for the next person, and 2) the person who adds 40 pounds more than they were actually lifting before they leave the station.

I’m betting Pete Hegseth is No. 2.

Might as well throw that in with whatever you’re not going to pass in the Senate before tomorrow.

With Portland as the main setting for my next book coming out in November, I can promise you — though full of crime and suspense — it doesn’t portray this amazing town as a “hellish landscape.” 😉

Ugh. That’s awful. I was a chef for 10 years before going into journalism. Loosing my sense of smell — although I joke about it — is actually one of my nightmares. I really am sorry. My wife still has taste and scent issues following her Covid exposure 3 years ago. I wouldn’t miss beets, though.

So true. Part of what makes real horror impactful is an element of truth or relatability. I’m working on a YA paranormal fiction novel that centers around the death of a girl who is a victim of the #troubledteenindustry back in the 1990s — a horror story all its own…

Ironically, while the newly established Coalition of the Willing is being created by nations throughout Europe to defend democracy in Ukraine, the Coalition of the Unwilling continues to destroy democracy here within our nation’s capital.

The news just reported on a “new diet pill” approved after a test on 3,000 people. Most saw a 12 percent loss in body fat.

Side effects? Nausea, vomitting and diarrhea.

I’m no scientist, but I think I have figured out the “weight-loss” component of this drug…

Had such a terrific time working with this group of middle-schoolers as part of a summer writing class. They learned the five points of a very basic outline for a one-page short story. Arranged for a reception at a local gallery where their stories are on display through August. So proud of them!
