Devoted public servants protect our communities from disasters, keep our airplanes safely in the sky, combat child trafficking, and ensure our water is safe to drink. Don't mistake these mass layoffs as affecting only "other people," as their impact will ripple outwards in the weeks and months to come. This is only the beginning.
