I do the same on my site! I had friends who said it reads as a non-video-essay haha. But honestly, I have fun seeing where tangents get me.

Shadow of the Colossus: An oral history Celebrate the 20th anniversary of Team Ico’s masterpiece by looking back with 11 people who worked on it (and three who didn’t).

For the Shadow of the Colossus story, we interviewed 14 people including project leads Fumito Ueda and Kenji Kaido, hired Gravity Rush concept artist Takeshi Oga to illustrate the cover, and put together a 10,000-word story with help from @milkman.bsky.social @shmuplations.bsky.social and others.

Echoing others, it's about the people you follow. Fortunately, there are a couple of people who left Twitter and only post here, so I was forced to come to keep seeing their stuff, and honestly, my bsky feed is much more fun than Twitter most of the time

I have this sad memory as a kid where my parents got me an NES clone around 2004 and it broke because of a lightning storm. So after that, I just sat with it and pretended I played

With how affordable minimum hardware is nowadays and access to the internet I couldn't be more envious of today's kids

Yeah I tagged the post with modding based on your post about this feed. Its probably my fuck up that I didn't mark the original post as English, maybe I should change a setting for that to be the default language.

I don't know if you changed something on the feed tho but I can see it now!

GitHub - Rainchus/Mp3-Combination: A combination of Mario Parties 3 and 2 and 1 A combination of Mario Parties 3 and 2 and 1. Contribute to Rainchus/Mp3-Combination development by creating an account on GitHub.

Last night we got together with some friends and had a Mario Party night. And I used the opportunity to try out this modded ROM that includes the minigames from the second game (and the first one, if you want to) inside the third one.

Had a great time!

Took what modders made on BRC and put it into a new game, this is gonna be awesome.

Fortunately, the industry is in great shape, and people have super secure positions that justify moving away so far from where they currently are without fearing being laid off just mere months after doing so.

Funnily enough, it's a recurrent meme that software engineers end up doing woodwork or opening a bakery. My hypothesis is that they are so tired of things not working because of unknown reasons that being able to see the direct influence of your actions feels very cathartic.

The demo didn't work with any modloader, do they with the released version? Or you didn't try to use CUE?

And they seem to be using Unity as a, wrapping engine? For the port, my Cinematic Unity Explorer mod works just fine on it! (or at least the old demo they released a couple of years ago)

YouTube video by Douglas BC SJ TRIBUTE - PHOENIX BETA BATTLE TEST (PREVIEW!)

I should start sharing more cool projects/mods/stuff I come across online. Today, I found this team of Brazilian developers working not only on a Shadow of the Colossus PC port with updated HD textures, but also restoring cut content from the very ground up. Amazing stuff!

MHO Revival MHO Revival has 2 repositories available. Follow their code on GitHub.

I still have hopes that one day we will see MH Online (the one on CryEngine) get a revival by the community as well, but progress has been slow.

But hey, at least we had Frontiers revival.

That's the reason I haven't bought one, I just keep using the GitHub.io url because I know it's robust (and doesn't look that bad for a soft eng lmao)

I am always afraid of this happening if I buy a domain. Does your old one redirect to your new one by any chance?

Looking forward to it!

It's just that you sometimes have mods so interesting, like the MGS V coop one (with even a more interesting write-up about its creations for nerds like myself), that I wonder how many other cool things we're missing. A site entirely focused on modding news would be rad.

I have been meaning to ask, how do you stay updated on the release of interesting mods without following the specific modding scene? Is there a website or account that tends to report on the most interesting ones? (as in, not "simple" model swaps but stuff that changes the game code and design)

11.08.2025 21:54 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

Ah, right, yeah. Then, Resettlers would have positioned 137 overall, which makes more sense (without taking into account weights in the average calculation, though). The bayesian score looks very interesting considering the rankings.

Thank you very much for the explanation and sheet!

09.08.2025 02:55 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

That's very interesting! If I understand this correctly, our game (Resettlers) would have positioned #60 in overall (despite not breaking into the top #100 in any category).

Is this calculation the same that Itchio would have made, or did you come up with a formula that made sense?

I guess it wouldn't be a good solution if you need to protect posts to Patreon users or something, but if you need a place to host some blog posts of some sort, static site generators such as Jekyll and Hugo are great. And you can even host it for free on GitHub like some (most?) do.

And that's a wrap on #GMTK2025!

This year, we made a cozy city-building game that partially wipes out your city every 10 turns, forcing you to adapt every new loop from the remains of your previous city.

You can play it in your browser. Go give it a try!

Story Machines Vol. 1: Introduction to Mechanical Storytelling
YouTube video by Games & Culture Story Machines Vol. 1: Introduction to Mechanical Storytelling

Oh man, so many to name. Games & Culture is awesome; it shows that the person writing the videos is an actual designer, unlike so much YouTube content. I heavily recommend the two Story Machines videos they have.

And as an extra, I also recommend @pixeladay.bsky.social and @ludicryan.bsky.social
