With the possibility of getting adhd meds, I'm already doing research. A little useless since meds impact everyone differently. I'm seeing so many good experiences with the med I took in college. It was great until it wore off. Then I was a raging bitch and binge ate. No thanks.

If they don’t find them, I have one more avenue before I’m SOL. If that doesn’t work, I’ll have to get rediagnosed with adhd. Hopefully our insurance is good enough it covers it and won’t cost too much.

Met Chris’ new PCP today and I made an appointment with her next month. She had good vibes and listened. We also get $1000 off our premiums if we both get physicals in the first 3 months of having the new insurance. They’re even going to try to find my medical records for me. 😭

Let me try listening to this currently relevant Bridgerton book. I tried months ago and was not vibing with it, but I was also sick and fell asleep listening which probably sent me into weird fever dreams the skewed the actual story.

I'm more of a Nancy Drew/Syberia puzzle gamer. Make me run back and fourth a million times to open up enough clues to get the puzzles solved.

I am admittedly not a lover of roguelites nor do I enjoy the challenge of games like Elden Ring where you have to attempt a fight multiple times to get it right. Probably also why I have never gotten into high tier raiding in MMOs.

Blue Prince is the most disappointing game I have ever been hyped up to play. The puzzle of it is heavily reliant on RNG within RNG making the roguelite aspect infuriating. If the item placement was consistent, it would be a great strategy game for chaining the rooms together.

Never mind. We’re striking today. However, we will be supporting a local restaurant that uplifts our immigrant and LGBTQIA+ communities and has a drink literally called “fuck ice, forever”.

Chris makes his own cold brew and one of our nice local grocery stores sells their in house roasted beans for almost half off on Fridays. He’s out of coffee. I have to go to the store during the snow panic.

Chris is supposed to go back to the office tomorrow. We live at the bottom of a hill. The kid across the street made it up and down fine, but that was 4pm. Not 7am. He won't be penalized for working from home. He just started his more hands on training and it's much easier in person than on Teams.

It might snow again on Saturday. Uhh we're supposed to watch the kids that day. Based on temps, it's going to stick. Either the musical is canceled or big Lu needs to pick us up and drop us off.

Maybe I could work on new designs. I can’t photograph them because of the snow. I can’t fill orders because the supply package that was supposed to arrive today isn’t even in the state yet. I highly doubt my mail carrier is coming by today. So, video games! And maybe building another book nook.

I’m the only person in the house who doesn’t have to work today. Everyone else is working from home. Am I going to play video games all day? Yes. Am I going to feel guilty about it? Also yes.

Never mind again. I figured out a way. 😁

Never mind. We work the GP system in a way that does not allow me access to EA Play. 😅

In honor of Snowpocalypse 2026, here is my father. One week prior to Snowmageddon 2010.

Later that same winter, the school system messed up and didn't delay/call off school and my friend hit black ice. Her car ended up nearly vertical in a deep ditch. She was ok and the car only had a messed up bumper thanks to all the brush. She wasn't the only one who had issues just from our school.

I was one of those kids at the edge of the county at the top of two very shaded hills. And my mom was a teacher. My senior year I graduated a semester early, but my English final was pushed all the way out to mid January because we kept getting hit with ice. They had make up days that year for sure.

We had a few northerners in my program in college who were warned and brushed it off. We got a good snow one of the winters and they learned their lesson. They also couldn't figure out why our winters felt colder. Because we still have humidity. Our winters are wet.

I’m going out to the craft store today to find a bunch of paint kits for her and the kids to do this weekend while they’re cooped up in the house. Good vibes for SIL and big Lu during this trying time. 🤣

MIL’s Alzheimer’s is progressing. If you’re not sitting on the couch, she’s asking what she can do to help every 10 minutes. I suggested filling a big basket of the clothes Wes recently grew out of for her to fold. She won’t know they’re not current and it will keep her hands busy for a while.

Time to get groceries. The parking lot is full. Wish me luck.

Now ice is what I remember most as a kid. We lived in a little “rural” neighborhood surrounded by cow pastors and tobacco fields. We lost power all the time due to ice and our area was bottom of the priority list. My parents installed a wood stove after we lost power for two weeks in the early 90’s.

My cousin lives in north Raleigh and I remember at least once when they got way more snow than we did. NC snow is always wild. The current storm is now being forcased as mostly ice.

They are now predicting up to 32”. How soon are the panic buyers going to trash the grocery stores? I might go this morning just to get everything we need for the next 1.5 weeks. Which is really just milk, yogurt, creamer, coffee, and snacks.

I wish it snowed more here. Our last big-ish snow was 2018 on my wedding day. Because surely it wouldn’t snow on the same day two years in a row in NC. We get a good snow once a decade. 🤣

We definitely had a lot of snow, but the data I looked up last night was in the teens. I remember it well. Greensboro feels like it’s in weird location for snow. Almost like storms skip over it a little. It seems like most of the time all surrounding areas get more snow than we do.
