Apparently, there was a grass fire that ignited some of the tree line in a field in Saint Peter Bay today. It was during a harvest. The fire was gone under control fairly quickly and then put out, but it is that quick. It can happen that quickly.

THIS IS ALSO WHY THEY DON'T WANT YOU GOING INTO THE WOODS. If you fall and get hurt, or lost (it happens!), you tie up resources for when a wildfire breaks out, LIKE RIGHT NOW. Fire almost always responds to those calls, too.

Packing an emergency evacuation kit:
Snacks & water
Phone charger
Small first-aid kit
medications
Personal toiletries items, such as glasses or contact lenses important documents, such as insurance papers & identification
Cash/credit/debit
Seasonal clothing
Irreplaceable keepsakes
Pet supplies/pets
