I want to highlight that this is I think one of the most genuinely interesting TTRPGs I've read in years, in ways that are hard to articulate in a bsky post. @liz-shrikestudio.bsky.social has made something very special here, and if you love TTRPG design you owe it to yourself to read this game.

In what universe does it make sense to side with the AI slop merchants instead of your core attendee and creative base? Other cons can do it, you can too. Nobody is forcing you to side with these losers against your own artists and customers.

I don't think it's intended as satire. It's possible it may be intended to show the characters in a negative light, but in context it's a throwaway joke

Speedrunners are some of the coolest, most supportive, inclusive people around. It's an amazing community and one which is hungry for more mainstream attention and support, and it sucks that predatory companies are trying to use them like that

Watching Wyrmwood trying to launder their reputation in the speedrunning community and using AI slop to do so kinda makes me sick

(They could probably also have fun without the box, these were larpers I was talking about after all)

I came to the realisation about fifteen years ago that if you leave roleplayers alone for long enough they can and will figure out how to have fun with nothing more than an empty cardboard box, but also they might have more fun if the box had an actual toy inside it
