#Unrivaled should make a press release detailing what kind of league they would create if the #WNBA season is cancelled. This would put pressure on the owners to give them what they owe them in a timely manner

If he gave his $54M salary to the #WNBPA to pay the players for this season, the average salary for the 12 women on 14 teams (12*14=168) would be $321,428.57
Then the Fat Cats and the WNBPA could kick the can down the road and sign a CBA later.
BTW, $48M, split among the 144 WNBA players in 2025 would be $400k.
And the MNBA/WNBA is losing money.
So, NBC/the #MNBA wants to do a 1v1 or 2v2 thing for next year's All Star Game.

In order to match the payout from #Unrivaled (80% of the #WNBA top salary for Jackie Y.), the top prize would have to be $48M (80% of Steph's salary, $59.6M)

She didn't play in 25-26, so MIGHT be able to get a Medical Red Shirt & play at SC in 26-27

I bet there are college arenas that don't give AF about WNBA owners & would be happy to host some Unrivaled 5x5 games (and take in some fabulous ticket & beer sales) this summer.
E.g., Tennessee, South Carolina, LSU, UConn, Iowa, UT Austin, etc. -- any college that attracts big crowds already.

12 full teams: up to 168 players
Doubleheaders 6 day/week. Each team plays 2 games/week
Weekday games in (e.g.) Miami
Weekend games at large college arenas
May 15-Sept 4: 16 weeks; 32 games per team
Easy peasy!
I'm 50/50 on 5x5 vs 3x3 for the "Unrivaled Summer League". If the W truly collapses, then 5x5, with normal rules and courts, for sure. But a 3x3 summer league to "stick it" to the Fat Cats would be sweet.

I'm a little miffed at the USA Today headline on this (attached). AR5 stopped playing last season when it seemed like Rose was out of it. They won the championship without her.

Seriously, Amihere and Boston were teammates on the 2022 NCAA champions Gamecocks.
