The number that always gets tossed around for a "good" boardgame as a GeekRating on BGG is 7.0. I think that's BS. BGG users skew heavier games as better (just look at the top 100). 3 of my top 9 games are 6s! Don't forget about them. Do you have a game you love that's rated under 7?

For example… If you could give a game an 8 for player interaction and a 2 for hand management, you might actually be able to find games you really love.

There’s absolutely no context to how people rate games on bgg, it sucks. When a game gets bad reviews because someone who is super into 18xx games hates trick taking, they ruin it for other people who simply look at the rating.

They should really have ratings on elements/mechanics of the game.
