Don't we all feel sorry for the people who observe Valentine's Day? I understand it was always my Dad's birthday, so I'm the exception. Still. You need a designated day for your person to show you love, give you gifts, etc.?! It feels like the most depressing holiday, ever.

Haven't been able to uphold this yearly birthday tradition since moving to Canada, but I got about halfway through it this morning, at least. Daddy would appreciate my effort. 😜🦈💞

Day 6 Update:

Air quality cleared. Containment room gone. Damaged wall removed. Hopefully tomorrow begins the rebuild. They were just waiting in quotes to come back today.

Day 5 Update:

No pictures today, because the containment room is still downstairs. Tomorrow morning the Environmental crew will come to do an air quality test, to make sure everything that was taken out today didn't leave anything in the air/it is safe. Then, repair work can begin.

Day 4 Update:

Flooring removed. Asbestos testing is tomorrow. We'll know a little better schedule of how much longer we're in for, after that.

I need to finish out the list, and I promise I'm fully with all of you in the resistance, which is why I didn't unfollow.

Where I'm at now - I'm fully debating deleting social apps from my phone. No one wants to be social on social media anymore, and the negativity I see is too much to be worth it.

Taking my time and going through my followers tonight to follow back some folks. No offense to anyone I didn't click that +, but I have a LOT of political names/words muted, and if the first post is muted, or the first 5-10 posts are political/zero expression of yourself, I kept going. #FuckTrump

Day 3 Update:

Room is empty. That's it. That's the update. Lol

No word on next steps yet. Hopefully we'll either get a call, or someone will show up in the morning.

I know I joked (not really) about you ordering all 4, but you ordered the two I liked the most. The black & white one, especially (but most of my closet is black & white, so...). I like it even more on you than the model!!!

Day 2 Update:

The best news we could've gotten. Three sections of flooring were cut through, and it doesn't appear any water got under the subfloor. We'll know for sure once the floor is pulled up to be replaced, but it's looking good. Tomorrow is pack-out of the room. Possibly floor coming up too.

In fairness, I've posted about life trauma, cats, politics: and it's still crickets. Those are literally the driving topics on Bsky, and no one wants to hear them from me.

I keep trying to ignore/not post ugly shit about the world, and my "tl cleanser" is dogs that are going to be put down tomorrow. I'm really trying, y'all. I promise.

Doing chores has just made me more frustrated/exhausted at life tonight, so let's talk about our cats.

Harvey and I are ridiculously codependent on each other. To the point she often comes in and uses the litter box while I'm peeing on the toilet next to it. "We do everything together, Mama."

Pipe was repaired today, so we at least have running water again. Tomorrow floors get pulled up, to see how far the water went on/under the subfloor. The possibility of us having to gut the basement for the second time since we've lived here is there.

Well... here we go again. We literally JUST passed the 5 year anniversary of our last basement flood. Walked downstairs last night into a floor covered in water (burst pipe to the baseboard heater). At least, since it's been 5 years, we're ok doing another major claim on our insurance...

I am not good at taking care of myself, generally, but especially lately.
