Tucson has free fares. Judging from public comments, it is very controversial, mostly because people think it is attracting homeless riders to the stops and buses.

Criminal punishments don't typically prevent crimes (see death penalty) so I sort of agree. But there's some indication certainty of punishment rather than severity *is* important. We need red light cameras, speed cameras, and other ways to create a general sense that violating traffic laws is bad.

Remember when everyone would fret that if they ever violated a court order we would be in a "constitutional crisis"? What ever happened to that, and why did it matter?

The Epstein class scoffs at how much the hoi palloi wastes on drinks, and/or dares to not buy drinks. Meanwhile...
