Ooh, hard to pick. In the last few years, probably A Quiet Universe by @tinylesbianrobot.itch.io. For 2025 releases, @callistokhan.bsky.social's The Zeus Constant.

I do appreciate how every time a nymph is on screen they're described in a way that feels unsure of their sapience, whether they possess some true intelligence or if they're just REALLY good at pretending

My top 2025 reads, one of them is kind of cheating because Confessions came out in 2008, but the rest are 2025 releases. Featuring @trishusband.itch.io @callistokhan.bsky.social @ciricegray.itch.io @tinylesbianrobot.itch.io

Can't believe there exist, like, hundreds of thousands of words of GO fanfic. Probably at least half a million by this point because people keep doing novel-length stuff.

Reminder that although men can be sad and distressed within and in response to awareness of the conditions of patriarchy, men are primarily the beneficiaries of it, not the victims.

Hi! Zeus Constant can be read alone but I generally recommend reading Hades Calculus first for how the themes reveals are layered.

Palatability is ultimately the enemy of the liberation because when the going gets tough, they're burning books that even smell gay much less the ones that show queer people as complex, realistic, both kind and cruel, as well as defiant towards the social technologies of patriarchy.

intent to subvert, invert, or criticize those genre conventions or the hero's role and so on then this just presents a fairly milequetoast "gay people are just like you" effect. it's a lot more interesting to me at least to go further and challenge the system that produces such a hero, such a genre

This is not to say that gay books don't have a place in the ecosystem. It's still important to have introductory material. But I'm just always going to be more interested in how much deeper we can go. It's fine to replace the hero of some genre with a queer character or woman, but if there's no

At a time when queer people are being monstered and the west is backsliding into fascism, to homo+transphobia. I'm blessed to be part books that reclaim this grotesquerie of queerness to make critiques of these reactionary narrative trends and the systems that uphold them.

12.11.2025 08:04 โ€” ๐Ÿ‘ 30    ๐Ÿ” 3    ๐Ÿ’ฌ 1    ๐Ÿ“Œ 0

I've noticed a lot of ostensibly gay books are not "culturally" queer. They exhibit either a disconnect or a dismissal of liberation in their aim to be assimilated into more palatable trends, informed by trade restrictions that perpetuate stigma against queer people rather than subvert them.

GO's fandom is quite beautiful. It's so rare for an indie series to draw this kind of engagement and attention. We're so grateful for everyone's support โค๏ธ

Book cover for House of the Underworld by Cirice Gray. Two nearly identical figures face each other in mirrored symmetry, both have vibrant red hair and freckles, one has brown eyes, the other grey. Above, in the background, a golden sunburst and a pale crescent moon loom over a cityscape. The image is framed by an art nouveau-style silver-grey border.

Excited to show everyone House of the Underworld's cover!

Madalithea's story is going truly wild places alongside Maria Ying's The Persephone Effect, so please look forward to more turmoil, lesbian romance, sisterhood, escalating danger, and baking!

Elysium is funny. Demeter is the only mother, yet she's never given birth. Zeus is the only father, and her labor was through her head. Everyone is banned from having kids. Nearly milf-less ruling class, with barely one dilf to balance things out.
