Came across the term “heteropessimism” for the first time this morning and what a chuckle I chuckled, I’ll tell ya.

Senate report details dozens of cases of medical neglect in federal immigration detention centers A U.S. Senate investigation has uncovered numerous credible reports of medical neglect and poor conditions in immigration detention centers across the country.

A U.S. Senate investigation led by Sen. Jon Ossoff (D-Ga.) "has uncovered dozens of credible reports of medical neglect and poor conditions in immigration detention centers nationwide — with detainees denied insulin, left without medical attention for days and forced to compete for clean water."

The mainstream media is not just consolidating it is purging. Why? A singular story of the oligarchs must be told and enforced as the only truth available to us on those or rather their planforms.

I was laid off from Teen Vogue today along with multiple other staffers, and today is my last day.

certainly more to come from me when the dust has settled more, but to my knowledge, after today, there will be no politics staffers at Teen Vogue.

The USDA sent an email to grocery stores telling them they are prohibited from offering special discounts to customers affected by the SNAP funding lapse.
I'm aware of at least 2 stores that had offered struggling customers a discount, then withdrew it after receiving this email

Early planning documents reviewed by WIRED describe a statewide transport grid designed for steady detainee transfers across Texas, with ICE estimating each trip to average 100 miles. Every county would have its own small, around-the-clock team of contractors collecting immigrants from local authorities deputized by ICE. It is a subtle transfer of the physical custody process into the hands of a private security firm—authorized to carry firearms and perform transport duties “in any and all local, county, state, and ICE locations.”

NEW: ICE is planning to build a shadow deportation network in Texas. A proposal outlines a 24/7 transport operation run by armed contractors—turning Texas into the logistical backbone of an industrialized deportation machine.

Ranking member of the House Homeland Security Committee Bennie G. Thompson said in a statement “Mobile Fortify is a dangerous tool in the hands of ICE, and it puts American citizens at risk of detention and even deportation.” He also said “ICE officials have told us that an apparent biometric match by Mobile Fortify is a ‘definitive’ determination of a person’s status and that an ICE officer may ignore evidence of American citizenship—including a birth certificate—if the app says the person is an alien. ICE using a mobile biometrics app in ways its developers at CBP never intended or tested is a frightening, repugnant, and unconstitutional attack on Americans’ rights and freedoms.”

New incredible detail here: ICE says a match in its facial recognition app Mobile Fortify is a "definitive" determination of a person's status, and that this overrides birth certificates. This is an app ICE is using in the field to scan people

"WHAT IS A FIGHTBACK SCHOOL?
These schools will bring rank-and-file workers and community members into conversation to:

Understand how federal assaults are affecting people in your region
Name the bosses and billionaires in your region benefiting
Assess the power you will need to push back against these bosses
Make plans for actions that build this power within unions and community organizations

Our hope is that these gatherings can become the nucleus for ongoing democratic organizing within each region, to help all of us to win locally and strengthen our muscles to, together, take on the national struggle.

We have developed an agenda outline and some guidelines for pulling together an organizing committee, thinking through who to invite, and knowing when you are ready to launch. The event itself should involve a wide swath of people - including rank and file workers and community members - analyzing power, assessing capacity, and make plans for next steps. "

Immigration agents have the authority to detain whom they reasonably suspect are in the country illegally. We found more than 50 Americans who were held after agents questioned their citizenship. They were almost all Latino.

~130
Agents also can arrest citizens who allegedly interfered with or assaulted officers. We compiled cases of about 130 Americans, including a dozen elected officials, accused of assaulting or impeding officers.

~20
Among the citizens detained are nearly 20 children, including two with cancer.

Hi, I'm the ProPublica reporter who's been tracking an unusual stat: U.S. citizens grabbed by immigration agents.

I did it because the government isn’t.

This is what I found.

200-person homeless camp on community soccer field to be cleared Many work full time but still can't afford housing.

A 200-person homeless encampment in Gainesville, GA, is being cleared this week. Many of those living in tents have jobs but can't afford rent.

One woman estimated she's been forced to move 20 times. "There's a lot of people who get checks that don't have enough money to get places," she said.
